Great location! Just okay condo.
This is our third time staying at Sandcastle I. We LOVE this location and the room layout -- with the sliding glass doors open to the beachfront patio in both the living room AND the master bedroom are AWESOME -- is the best! The pool is excellent and we could always find chairs. The close proximity to our favorite restaurants, some even within walking distance, always keeps us coming back. Now for the bad news. This was the worst of the 3 condos we have stayed in at SC 1. I was thinking that Plumlee, with their fancy coozies for guests, spent more money on upkeep and cleaning. Not so. Overall the unit was run down and had tiles missing, holes in the floor, and grease coated kitchen cabinets. I made the mistake of doing some yoga on the floor and looked under the futon in the third "bedroom" and was horrified by the obviously visible dirt that no one saw. The kitchen is their focus. This was also the condo with the fewest things left behind from prior guests, e.g. no beach towels, no cooler, no laundry detergent, no dish soap, and not even one coffee filter, which I found ridiculous as you can't buy them in smaller than a 100-count pack. They want you to bag your own trash and take it out, but only give you ONE trash bag for the kitchen trash for the week. One would think that for the thousands of dollars paid for the week, they could at least give you two, but nope. The kitchen was stocked with dishes and pots and pans, but that's it. Would not stay at this unit again.
