We absolutely loved our time in Indian Shores at this property which is located within the Barefoot Beach Resort. The location was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted a great beach without the crowding at Clearwater and this checked the box! I believe this area is largely a retirement area as walkers, joggers, and cyclists frequented the path along the road. I walked with my young daughters and jogged the path and along the beach early morning and felt very safe. The location has a few restaurants within walking distance or a short drive to all amenities like groceries or fast food. The property is tucked away from large tourist attractions which we liked. One side has the bay with a sidewalk along the property to walk. On the other side is the beach and ocean just crossing a narrow two lane road that is not busy like the big intersections in Clearwater. There is a crosswalk right by property with beach access designated for this property. The property itself had everything we needed minus just two small recommendations. There was a full kitchen, large living and dining space, two separate bedrooms, a third bed in the den open area but tucked away for privacy. Board games, TV, beach toys, chairs, noodles, plus a wagon, and a private heated pool for when we were done at the beach with many available loungers were all available and made this property and great choice with kids. We loved that the beach was never busy and we went in April. We also drove 2-hrs to Crystal River for a Manatee Tour which was a must! Check out the tour company Manatees in Paradise - they are the best! Two very small recommendations I would change about the property were more towels to shower with, and deadbolts on the doors. Even though this area was VERY safe (and police station near), also the lock box allowed locking of the door, I would have liked the additional safety of a deadbolt in case anyone else had the code to the house (which I assume the property owner takes precautions and changes this frequently and does not share). We absolutely plan to stay again even without these changes, we would just bring more towels! :)
