Sandy Shores 307 2 BR Condo on the Beach

This newly decorated condo has all the comforts of home. .The kitchen has beautiful cabinets with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. The master bathroom has a luxurious walk in shower. The master bedroom has two queen beds and the guest room has a double and a single bed. There is a private balcony with a view of the beach. There are flat screen TV's in both bedrooms as well as the living room. Our friendly staff will do their best to accommodate any requests or concerns you may have during your vacation. Please come and enjoy the beautiful beach and soothing warm breezes as well as the local attractions which include John's Pass Village and Boardwalk with its many shops, cafes, restaurants and fishing charters directly across the street from our condos. Coin operated washers and dryers are located on each floor. This is a non- smoking accommodation.

I did not use the pool. Enjoyed the beach! Unit I rented was semi clean. Metal sauce pan needs to be replacrd as it is rusted inside. The owner should leave a list of what TV apps are available. It was very frustrating to navigate.

Not great but not horrible.

Starting with the positive…the location is great! Lots of food and shops right across the street within walking distance. Parking is expensive at John’s Pass so recommend walking. The pool is kept nice and clean as well. Communication with management started off great. However, I reached out immediately to let them know our sheets were dirty/stained on all the beds and did not have replacements but never heard back. On a positive note the mattress was comfortable but wish we had clean sheets. I also immediately informed them on our first morning that both coffee machines were broken and also no response. After grocery shopping for creamer and coffee we had to go buy coffee. If you are a coffee drinker just be aware unless they bought a new one. Also, the unit had a very strange smell as if smokers lived there or possibly just not thoroughly sanitized. Make sure to bring extra bath towels because you do not get any extras at all!!! Also, there are no kitchen towels if you need to dry some dishes and the pot holders were filthy. The beach area is beautiful and not too overly crowded.

Great location

This was a nice condo in a great location, especially with teens. They can walk across the street to John’s pass and hang out. Would consider staying here again.

Mother -daughter's Get-Away

The property was conveniently located, clean, and had a great beach front. Check in and check out were seamless. The only issue was a fruit fly "gang" that occupied the kitchen.

Property is very outdated/ Furniture and pillows are old and not real clean. Very odd smell, like musty? Need a fan in the master bedroom and light on balcony. People on level above us constantly moving furniture day and night. Very weird but very loud. Wished the washer and dryer was in the condo. Halls were very dark/ But location was wonderful. Staff was great! We had a good time over all.

Had a great time

The location was great. I would have to say its not worth the 160.00 cleaning fee. Kitchen and living room was pretty clean. The bathrooms and bedrooms needs a very good cleaning. 2nd bedroom needs walls wiped down, very dusty if anyone has allergy problems. It seemed the fan was very dusty and someone turned it on and splattered all the walls. I'm sure a/c would work better if they cleaned all the vents and returns. Bathroom doors very dusty and grout needs a good cleaning. Could be an awesome place if touch up paint and wiring updated. But we made do with the quick access to beach and pool was nice.

The unit we initially rented was disgusting. Mold on the shower curtain, broken furniture, dirty rugs, dirty hand prints all over the walls and dirty bedding. The maintenance man was able to get us into a different unit that was clean and gorgeous. I gave the cleanliness and overall ratings a 3 for this reason. The initial unit should have never been left in the condition that it was. The location was perfect. The pool was beautiful. I'm not sure that I would ever stay there again because if it was the busy time of year we may not have been able to get into another unit or find something at another location. Thankfully it was not fully booked.

Disappointing Condo stay

We received our security codes for bldg. And unit. Upon late night arrival, door would not open. We realized lock had been changed and was not correct lock to work with code. Owner nor manager were reachable. We pushed door hard and it opened. Door would not lock, so was left open our whole stay. No one would answer my calls, texts, messages at all. Unit was dirty, closet doors broken and filled with crap. No way to hang up our clothes. Showers didn't drain well, master overflowed some in shower. No lights in bedrooms, except corner lamps. It was horrible. Beds were creaky and mattresses old and broken in. DONT STAY IN THIS UNIT OR COMPLEX, gate codes did t work elevator barely worked, manager or owner never called or answered phone calls.

It was ok. When we walked in it had a funny smell to it. Also seemed like alot of the light bulbs are burned out. The beds are so-so. But we could walk to everything and that saved it. It was not dirty inside or anything. Would I stay here again? Maybe, but I would look around the area 1st.

Great location, on par for cost.

The location was great. We were stocked with dishes and beach toys which was a huge plus! Another plus was the tv in living room had many options of apps to watch. Shower curtain was moldy in master and the shower seemed rusty/dirty so we didn’t use that one but the other bathroom was great. Same with the bedrooms. Master beds were extremely uncomfortable and seemed almost broken, other bedroom was great. Communication was so so, there were times I did not receive responses but there were times I did. We did have some basic essentials but we also didn’t have any dish soap and not enough towels per people staying (which I received no response to). These are minor issues when factoring in the price. It was on the beach, with a beach view and a pool and right next to John’s pass and the pier. Overall- I thought the property was pretty on par for the price and we enjoyed our stay.

Disappointed

We were very disappointed in the unit itself. The location, building, pool, and the beach were fantastic. Our first and greatest disappointment was the cleanliness of the condo. While unloading luggage, I allowed my 8 month old to crawl around and check out the space. Within 10 minutes his hands and knees were black from the floors. The shower curtain in the master bath was covered in mold. There was dust all over. It was obvious it was a “quick clean” and get the next person in. I contacted the individual listed on Vrbo about these things along with the fact the bed seemed to be broken and the towel rack in the bathroom fell off the wall. I did not receive a response. I then contacted him again, because the garbage disposal didn’t work and was backing up into the sink and the pipes were leaking onto the floor. I still did not receive any communication back. However, a maintenance worker showed up the next day to fix the sink. So my messages were obviously going through. Still to this day- no response. The day we checked out we were finishing our last bit of packing and the individual cleaning the unit showed up at 8am knocking to come in. We didn’t have to be gone until 10am. The bucket consisted of a wetjet mop and a couple of cleaning chemicals. It made sense why the unit was in the condition it was in. We were in no way looking for luxury. We just wanted to enjoy the sun and family close by. But I did, at the very least, expect the unit to be clean. I hope this review makes it to the owner of this property. I can only imagine they’d be just as disappointed to hear how it’s being managed. The condo itself had so much potential! We would absolutely stay in this area again. But we will not book this unit or with this management company going forward.
