Horrid Customer Service.

Never actually stayed there. I made my reservation 6 months in advance. Called the hotel 2 days before my arrival to inquire about check in procedures and they informed me my reservation had been cancelled. There was never any communication to this effect. Had I not called them I would have showed up with no room. Fortunately, Hotels.com was able to get me a replacement room on short notice and made up the price difference. So Hotels.com get a stellar rating for fixing the worst possible customer service ever from The Vue Lake Tarpon hotel.

Going downhill under new management

We have stayed at this hotel 3 times so we know what to expect but if this had been our first trip we would have been very disappointed. This place is under new management since the last time we stayed and we could definitely tell that they were cutting corners. The poor guy running the front desk was also running around the hotel taking out all the trash. The lobby is closed and locked all evening so if you needed to check in late you were out of luck. Or heaven forbid if your toilet didn't work you wouldn't be able to run to the restroom in the lobby. There's not even a granola bar or coffee in the mornings or enough coffee packets in the room for 2 people. All of that used to be included with the room for the same price. You have to take out your own trash now too. It seems more like a place where people are living and then there's a few random overnight hotel guests here and there. Oh, and there's dog poop everywhere and people smoking (including weed) on their balconies 24-7 so you can't even enjoy sitting outside. The beds are lumpy and my husband had to fix the broken lamp. This sounds like a ton of complaints and it really is - we wouldn't stay here if it wasn't that we just really love being able to fish from the channel right out back. And even that is going downhill lately because the boat rental business is taking up most of the places where we used to fish. We will definitely think twice before coming back to this place again.

Theres no breakfast pacilities had my room cleaned once in 4 days had to ask for it an take my towels down to reception to change not worth the 112 dollars a night wouldn't go back there stayed in better for less

A definite NO

The service was okay. When I got there after midnight due to flight delay the hotel was CLOSED. I had to find another hotel. When I complained about the shower not working, I was moved to another room. When I complained about little ants I. The bathroom and vanity outside the bathroom i was advised the exterminator was already there and probably wouldn’t come back out. I was then advised I could check out. So I did check out.

Room was actually better than expected. My real only complaint is that HWY 19 (front side of the property) is really loud. Most of that noise is transferred through the door. If they could dampen that noise, this would be awesome!

Bad experience

Stuck us in a handicap room. Bathroom was ridiculous. NO room to set anything! Floor looked dirty & shower also. Worst thing was the fire alarm going off at 4 am !! Scaring people to death!! No one in the office & no apologies or explanations later in the morning!! We all should have been reimbursed for the night:(( Never again!! S

Run of the mill

The stay was ok. don't expect too much from this place....has basic accommodation. It's close to RT. 19 so can be noisy if you have the rooms parallel to it. Our room didn't have a working fan so when the burden is excessive, had to open the front and back doors to air it out...if you know what I mean.

we stayed here last year same time with good experience so rebooked this year...Management change...after 2 nights went to desk on 3rd day to see why we hadnt had housekeeping and got a roll of TP. manager at time swore we would get clean room in AM....it NEVER happened. They have no continental breakfast and hot tub was closed

I didn't have a great experience the hotel closed at 11 and only opened at 7 and with a paid reservation I had to sleep in the parking lot, it's absurd for a hotel to close at night… absurd

3 night stay

Well I will say the pictures of this property are extremely outdated. The hotel is very run down. It was comfortable enough. Kind of like staff just up and left one day. No restaurant no breakfast as stated on all of the sites. Im sure this was a very unique lovely place back in the day. For the price & the fact that it was dog friendly it was fine but I felt like I had to really pay attention coming & going on the property seemed a little shady. Beds were comfy microwave & fridge in room. Good tv Very noisy traffic from 19 & people above It was ok.

Dirty carpet with bizarre housekeeping rules.

Cost great. Booked room for a week. Booking said daily housekeeping. At check in had posted signs for weekly or monthly rental only 1 set of towels would be given. You could wash your own linen and towels and buy soap from them to do it. You could purchase toilet paper, Kleenex, soap etc. Room carpet dirty that tracked dirt on to bathroom floor. Needed shampooing badly. Light fixtures out, some light switches didn’t work and some outlets didn’t work. After 5 days housekeeping popped in and changed towel and mopped dirty bathroom floor. Same happened on day 6. Bizarre rules. Restaurant closed. On highway-mouser traffic all day and night

The room was very nice and I liked my view. The bed was very comfortable. The housekeeping staff was wonderful. The only problem I had with the Inn was that if you wanted to leave early the doors to the elevators and the lobby were locked til 7am and you had to use the outside stairs to leave. I was on the 3rd floor and having to leave at 6am to catch my flight home I had to drag all my luggage down 3 flights of stairs. And needless to say my luggage got all scratched up.

We had an excellent two night stay, unit was clean and comfortable. There is a good amount of noise from the highway however we left the AC fan running on the constant setting and it gave us a great nights sleep.
