Family Fun Along The Ridge!

Along The Ridge was designed for families!
With EXCLUSIVE trails around the property, a fire pit area, KIDS rock climbing wall in the basement, an arcade machine with 300 games, a candy machine, board games, movies, etc. your group will have something to do rain or shine.
The property is secluded, yet less than 10 minutes from the most popular attractions, restaurants and trails (ie. Natural Bridge is 2 miles away).
It is recommended to use an AWD vehicle when you visit ATR. Not only is the road leading up the mountain steep, but so is the driveway. With that said, we have had plenty of cars visit our place. The AWD advice is more of a Winter time suggestion.

  • Standing under the Natural Bridge in Slade Kentucky. Its namesake natural bridge is the centerpiece of the park. The natural sandstone arch spans 78 ft (24 m) and is 65 ft (20 m) high. The natural process of weathering formed the arch over millions of years. The park is approximately 2,300 acres (9 km2) of which approximately 1,200 acres (5 km2) is dedicated by the Office of Kentucky Nature Preserves as a nature preserve. #Nature

  • This is sky bridge. The most massive arch in Red River. it spans over a hundred feet and about 50 feet in the air. Probably the most famous arch in Red River, it has been seen in movies. Many astro-photographers flock here because of it's structure and clear skyline. If you get a chance, the trail is only .8 miles and very much worth it. You first walk across the top of the arch, it is so big that you are halfway across before you notice your not just on a narrow rock path. then you circle around to be under the arch.

Nice spot close to the sights.

The best part of our stay was the location—it was easy to get to nearby trails and local restaurants. Our kid especially enjoyed the trails around the cabin, the fire pit, bunk bed, and climbing wall.The cabin itself was fairly basic. It wasn’t high-end, but it served its purpose. The beds could definitely be more comfortable, and if you’re going to need an extra pillow, blanket, or towel, you’ll want to bring your own or ask ahead of time.

Perfect location to all activities.

The location was so perfect. So close to a freeway exit to head every directions, but yet the cabin quietly and privately sits in woods.We enjoyed trail hikes, kayaking, and family time at cabins. The owner replied to our questions and requests promptly.

Cozy place to stay.

This place is very nice.cooked dinner on the charcoal grill and had drinks by the fire. My son played on the arcade games a lot. The personal trails are a nice touch you can do some adventuring without leaving the property. The beds could use some upgrades. But overall a very nice place to stay.

Great Location

This cabin is in a great location, just off of the highway and about 20 minutes to the major hiking spots of the gorge. Also, only five minutes away from the gas station and the Kentucky reptile zoo. Overall experience was very easy checking in communication with the post was very good.

Amazing ridge vacation!

You couldn't ask for a better location. The cabin is central to every adventure we were hoping to explore. We loved that right on the property we could hike and explore the ridge, and we loved the ambiance of the cabin. Our kids especially loved the basement bedroom, and spent lots of time climbing and having fun. Kyle was an excellent host, and quickly responded to any messages we sent. We highly recommend staying at Along The Ridge.

Great Experience

We had a short stay at this quaint cabin the location was spectacular, cabin was well stocked and maintained and the children wanted to take the rock climbing wall home with us :) The location of the cabin is phenomenal. We hope to return for a longer stay in the future.

Great cabin, perfect location in the Red River Gorge area!

We traveled to the Red River Gorge area with my family and some of our closest friends and their kids and had a wonderful time. The cabin met every need of the group and was the perfect location- secluded, in the woods, feel yet only 5 minutes to some of our favorite attractions like Miguel’s pizza, Daniel Boone coffee shop and, of course, the Natural Bridge park.
