    Step into history! This historic home with updated modern convenience for your comfort, We have worked on this home for 2 years to save it. We total rehabbed this gem. On Merchant street-in the oldest town west of the Mississippi River.

This was a great little spot to stay!!! It has a lot of old world charm that is quite lovely. It is also in a great spot as you can walk to so many shops and restaurants from here. The owner was very responsive to all of my questions. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it.

The house was very cute. We loved the history of it and of the whole town. We were able to easily walk to all the restaurants, shops and museums.Jayne responded quickly to any messages we sent.A great place for a little Missouri history.

The host was fantastic! She is very easy to communicate with! The house is in a great location to see the town. The bed was comfortable. The house itself was perfect for the two of us. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch eating dinner. The house was clean and fun to stay in!

Beautiful Accommodations

The property is exceptionally charming with every amenity you could want. It's in the heart of downtown Ste. Genevieve, perfect for walking to all kinds of attractions. Also notable: we found the house to be a perfectly comfortable sanctuary, despite the sweltering heat outside.

Sisters retreat

The Dufour House was the perfect house for us! As sisters, we wanted to stay together and the house had everything we needed and more. We spent time on the back porch talking and enjoyed walking to coffee shops and restaurants that were minutes away. We were intrigued by the history of the house and the community. So much nicer than staying at a traditional hotel.

220 Merchant St, Dufour House

My wife and I had a great stay in the Dufour House. The House was charming, comfortable and in the middle of everything. We parked the car and didn't move it for three days as we could walk to wineries, restaurants, museums, and historic sites. We found the hosts most helpful and available. We would recommend the Dufour House to anyone wanting to enjoy a quiet but active vacation in Ste Genevieve, Missouri

A hidden gem!

I knew we were staying in a historic house when I booked the listing but I didn’t realize the historic significance of the building at the time. The listing undersells itself and is an absolute steal. The home is extremely clean and has more amenities than you could ever dream of. The owners were so kind and helpful. 10/10, I won’t stay anywhere else the next time we are in town.

We had an excellent experience with the property, the hosts and the charming town of Ste. Genevieve. Communication with the host was prompt and clear, from the check-in process through the (very easy!) departure. The property was clean and excellently appointed, and I will say most of the rooms are actually a bit larger than they appear on the listing, which was a nice surprise. And as most of the other reviews indicate, it truly is in the heart of town, with everything--coffee, food, drinks, museums & shopping all a short walk away. To us, however, the best part was how responsive our hosts--Jayne and Dustin--were throughout our stay. We had an issue with the AC the first night, made them aware the next morning, and by the time we got back from lunch, the AC guy (along with Dustin) was there getting everything back in ship-shape for a cool and comfortable stay! Check-out was a breeze: leave the garbage in the kitchen trash, start the dishwasher and lock the door. That's it! No schlepping garbage to the local dump, no unmaking the bed or washing of linens. A small thing, but truly appreciated. We'd highly recommend considering this lovely little home for anyone visiting Ste. Genevieve and the surrounding area.

Perfect weekend getaway! I love staying in older homes and this one did not disappoint. Communication from the host was excellent. The location could not be more perfect for shopping, restaurants, and museums. We parked our car on Friday and didn't use it again until we left on Sunday. The home had everything we needed and was really comfortable. Highly recommend.

Everything was perfect!!! The things that need to be updated are updated, and the things that don't, aren't! It was a lovely, historic place to stay. In our opinion, way better than a hotel. It was a chilly weekend and we were perfectly warm, check in was easy, and check out was even easier. Great location to everything in town. We have recommended this place to all our family and will stay again.
