The hotel desk clerk Doug was absolutely rude when I arrived to check in. He ignored me while he continued to have a conversation with a worker.
After placing my belongings in the room, I went into town to get dinner. When I got back to the Comfort Inn, there were overwhelming noxious fumes throughout the Comfort Inn. This front desk person threatened to physically remove me from the premises as I stated to him that I wanted a refund because of the noxious fumes that were throughout the entire Comfort Inn. I was concerned for my safety. I went to the third floor to reach out to Expedia and a police officer came knocking at the door. I explained the details of the incident to the police officer and he confirmed the smell was overwhelming and that he had heard other guests complaining about the smell.
He told me he could ticket Doug for threatening me if I wished and he gave me his card with the incident report number. The officer told me that the police have been called out to that area numerous times in the past. At my request, the police officer waited for me downstairs while I packed up my belongings to ensure that I was not accosted by Doug when I left. When I was at my new hotel (so much nicer), Expedia called me to ask about the incident. I relayed the details and told Expedia that they needed to take this Comfort Inn off their listing. They noted everything and gave me a full refund and apologies. This location is an embarrassment to the Comfort Inn name!!
