  • Finest Retreats are pleased to offer Roman House, a stunning three bedroomed home nestled in Stockbridge. This delightful house offers a comfortable and luxurious retreat for up to six guests, with its spacious layout and charming features.

    As you step inside, your immediately welcomed by the inviting ambiance and tasteful décor. Roman House boasts not one, but two lounge/family rooms, providing lots of space for relaxation and entertainment. Whether you prefer to curl up with a good book or gather with family for a movie night, Roman House offers the perfect setting for all.

    The heart of the home is undoubtedly the large kitchen/diner, a culinary haven equipped with modern amenities and stylish finishes. The sliding doors create a seamless transition between the indoor and outdoor spaces, inviting the beauty of nature inside. Step outside onto the terrace where you can enjoy the picturesque views of the surrounding area.

    Outside you can take a dip in the swim spa, a perfect spot to rejuvenate and relax. Lounge on the outdoor seating under the pergola, allowing yourself to soak up the sunshine or unwind under the starry night sky. Whether you're enjoying a morning coffee or hosting a delightful al fresco meal, this outdoor space provides the perfect backdrop for any occasion.

    Roman House offers three comfortable, well-appointed king-size bedrooms. Each room is thoughtfully decorated and furnished with your comfort in mind. You'll find two family bathrooms, with one additional WC.

    Located in the charming town of Stockbridge, you'll have easy access to an array of amenities, including boutique shops, local pubs, and delightful eateries. Nearby the River Test, one of England's finest chalk streams, flows through Stockbridge, offering a tranquil setting for fishing, riverside walks, and picnics.

    Both Salisbury and Winchester are a short distance away, where you can visit historic Cathedrals, explore the medieval streets, and discover each city's cultural attractions. Or perhaps take a trip to the UNESCO World Heritage site Stonehenge, one of the world's most iconic prehistoric monuments with a fascinating history to delve into.

    Parking is available at the front of the property for up to two vehicles, and Wi-Fi is included during your stay. For bookings and further information please contact Finest Retreats.

This house was a lovely place to stay in.

The house was big (with nice rooms) - plenty of space for the 5 of us. The location was also great - we could walk to the high street for meals. And the hot tub was a nice touch.

The house was spacious and clean and we enjoyed using the swim spa and exploring the nearby village

The house was spacious and clean and we enjoyed using the swim spa and exploring the nearby village which has nice pubs and cafes! The firepit outside was a lovely touch. NB as others have mentioned, the upstairs bathroom has a weirdly placed window which means you can’t shower until it’s dark outside and the curfew for swim spa is 8pm, which we felt was a bit early!

This is a fantastic house!

Beautiful interior and the garden looks out on to a field which is lovely. The hydropool was amazing! Beats a normal hot tub easily! We all loved it! Garden needed a little attention but it is a wet time of year so that’s understandable. Overall it was a great, quiet location and would happily stay there again.

Great location walking distance to Stockbridge

Great location walking distance to Stockbridge. Beautiful garden and fun large hot tub / small pool. Lovely interior although missing some basics which we’d expect for the price (eg dish cloths, bread knife, bath room toiletries etc - we needed to buy which was a little inconvenient for a 2 night stay). Overall a lovely house, clean and beautiful garden.

The place was great.

Having a swim spa was marvelous. The only odd thing is that the third floor shower has a window in the shower that doesn’t have privacy glass so anyone outside in the back garden can see you in the shower.

Great well appointed house

Lovely house, that has everything you need for a great stay, a short walk to Stockbridge village. The hot tub is a particularly treat on a sunny day/ evening. The space, and flow work well for a family and there is ample parking too. The top bedroom can get very warm with the afternoon sun even with the blinds closed. The outdoor sofas are indoor sofas so were covered in mould during our visit and therefore couldn’t be used.

Beautiful house.

The location was absolutely perfect with a short walk down into the village with lots of lovely coffee shops and eateries. The house was well presented. The garden was nice but could do with a gardener as the plants were overgrown and the leaves were slippy leading to the hot tub and the steps up to the hot tub were quite slippy too, just something to bear in mind this time of year. Also there are no blinds on the bathrooms which even though you are not overlooked we felt was a little awkward. Overall the house was gorgeous and we would definitely return. Many thanks again.

Pleasant stay

Plenty of space. Lovely garden. Lovely Hot tub. Comfortable beds. Clean linen and towels. Off putting having so much of the owners food, coats, shoes etc left in house. Not what I was expecting. Only 1 small wardrobe between 3 rooms. Neighbours cut hedge while we were there and left debris on the garden path and steps our side.

This is a really beautiful home!

Great location- so easy walk into the village. Really quiet and peaceful surroundings. Beautiful back garden with amazing swim spa hot tub which was a huge hit. Really tastefully furnished with good space. Had more amenities and essentials than listed which was a plus- the homeowner had left files with information about the home and manuals for appliances etc which we found really helpful. Mostly very clean with just a few items and areas seeming to need some attention. Great water pressure and plenty of hot water though not so hot in the shower on the middle floor for some reason. Host was responsive and helpful. Would definitely go again!

Beautiful house with great facilities

The house is beautiful. It is spacious, clean with really good facilities. The rooms are a great size and every room was a pleasure to explore. The hot tub is huge and great to relax or swim in. We were amazed by the food left for us e.g. bread, milk, jam, tea, coffee etc. The house was spotless, well maintained and really quiet. Host was really helpful. Good parking on the driveway and an open field behind. 20min drive into Winchester and a 5 min drive into the village for restaurants, take away and shops. We would definitely recommend. Lights on the garden so you can see when going to the hot tub. Frosted coverings in the bathrooms as you can easily be seen from the garden and field. Include information on how to recycle glass.
