Ampia casa con stupenda vista sul mare

Helensdale è situato in campagna aperta sopra una baia rocciosa che si affaccia sul Canale del Nord. Recentemente è stato completamente ristrutturato per offrire sistemazioni di lusso, ed è la scelta ideale se volete allontanarvi da tutto. Il pittoresco villaggio di pescatori di Portpatrick, con il suo porto tradizionale e la piccola spiaggia di sabbia, dispone di numerosi ristoranti, pub e negozi di alimentari di qualità, a soli 25 minuti d'auto. Altre attività che si trovano a Portpatrick includono gite in barca per la pesca e visite turistiche, moto, bowling, golf e passeggiate. Helensdale è una base ideale per gli appassionati di golf con 4 campi da golf, raggiungibili in 20 minuti in auto, Dunskey, Lagganmore, Craichmore e County. C'è anche Turnberry a meno di 1 ora di auto. Per gli escursionisti appassionati ci sono lunghi sentieri tra cui il Sud Upland Way, che inizia nel villaggio di Portpatrick e il percorso costiero Galloway da Stranraer a Mull of Galloway. La casa per vacanze di Helensdale è situata nei Rhins di Galloway, una penisola che ha una gamma varia e incantevole di caratteristiche costiere dalle spiagge sabbiose sulla costa orientale, come Sandhead - 7 miglia di sabbia ininterrotta, ad una varietà di scogliere, rocce e balene sabbiose in Occidente, inclusa la spiaggia sabbiosa isolata a Killantringan. Helendale was our second cottage in Scotland and we loved it like the other before. We were six people and two dogs and had space for everyone. The next shop is ten minutes away by car, but the reward is quitness, you are only hearing the sea and seagulls, and a stunning view for sundowners.

Helensdale is one of the best houses we have been in; and we travelled a lot. Calm, cosy, spacious and very relaxed, but elegant. Great kitchen, very good beds. We will come back.

Wir durften eine Woche auf helensdale zu Gast sein und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt!Das Haus ist gut ausgestattet und bei Fragen war die Vermieterin sofort zur Stelle.vielen Dank dafür!Der Ausblick aufs Wasser vom Wohnzimmer ist atemberaubend und die Landschaft ein Traum!wir haben die Woche dort sehr genossen.

Die Lage und das Cottage sind toll. Es ist schön gelegen, mit ein tollen Aussicht. Wer Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit mag, ist hier genau richtig. Das Cottage ist vollständig und liebevoll eingerichtet. Uns hat es dort sehr gefallen!

Had a wonderful stay at this lovely cottage. Very well equipped, and comfortable. Very peaceful, with great views, and lots of interesting wildlife around, which we watched from the large, airy lounge. Will be recommending to all our friends and family. Definitely will be coming back.

This is truly a wonderful location if you need time and space to reset and restore body and soul. We enjoyed wonderful weather and walking on the Scottish Upland way and the Mull of Galloway trail. There is so much to see of interest within a short distance and the Botanical Gardens at Port Logan are a must visit, it was paradise on a beautiful warm sunny day. The cottage was warm and comfortable with everything we needed and the views over the bay were stunning. Elspeth and family were very helpful providing information during the challenging COVID -19 restrictions. We were warmly welcomed every where we went and we will return for sure. Thank you Jo and Mike Douglas

If you prefer your holiday accommodation to be a beautifully maintained cottage, surrounded by fields frequented by deer, overlooking a cove where seals visit daily, and close proximity to glorious beaches and places of interest (many historical), then this destination is for you!

The house is extremely spacious and relaxing - a great place to return to after a day out walking. There are lots of places to go within short driving distance (or walks on the doorstep!). Elspeth got in touch just to make sure we were ok which was a lovely touch. We would definitely recommend Helensdale!

This was our first visit to the South Rhins, and it certainly lived up to it's reputation as a secret little corner of Scotland. Tourism is very low key on this peninsula, so if you're looking for peace and tranquility you will not be disappointed. The word "breathtaking" is overused these days but the location of Helensdale, and the views from the front windows most certainly do take your breath away. To be honest, the website photos do not come anywhere near doing the views justice - prepare to be astonished. The property was beautifully presented, and welcoming - we both felt immediately at home, and we were genuinely amazed at the sheer space. All rooms are light, airy and so spacious. If you want to escape the rat-race and truly get away from it all....look no further.

We spent a lovely week at Helensdale. A remote location - we saw more wildlife than people - with stunning views across the sea to Ireland. We can recommend the area for a holiday - lovely quiet beaches and beautiful countryside. The house itself is like the Tardis - it seems much bigger on the inside! Very spacious with plenty of room for all our family and dog with out us getting in each other's way. it was also well equipped and comfortable. Elspeth popped over during the week to check all was ok for us.

Thank you so much for staying at your lovely house. We had a wonderfull week with very nice weather. The house has great views. The house was clean and fully equiped. The beds were very good. It is so peacefull and relaxing. The view on the sea is very nice. We have seen several deers in front of the house. There is so kuch to do in the surroundings. I hope we may come back sometime. A beautiful area in this really well equipped house. It is very clean, the beds and bathrooms are great, the kitchen is well suited to prepare meals for a family. It is well suited for 6 people, because the kitchen and dining area is followed by a small living room. We walked a lot, visited 2 wonderful gardens, as well as the Portpatrick and Sandhead beach. Elspeth lovingly welcomed us with biscuits and a cozy warm house. So the holiday started directly. We would like to staying longer.

If you are looking for a place away from it all and at one with nature, very well appointed and extremely comfortable, you have found it! The views and surroundings are no less than stunning. Expansive meadows and stone walls meet the grandeur of the ocean. Blooming daffodils and crocuses despite rare snow, and the view of Ireland coastal lights were welcome surprises. The home is delightful, outfitted with a perfect kitchen, cozy furniture, comfortable beds, a lovely fireplace, a soothing bathtub and large windows that allow you to soak in the environment. While secluded, provisions and experiences are a short drive away. The welcoming hospitality provided by Elspeth was spectacular. The solace and simplicity of it all will bring us back.

Exceptional!! Far exceeded our expectations. Beautiful spacious house, equipped with everything you could want. The views all around are beautiful but from the front overlooking the bay ( with seals playing) and Northern Ireland appearing on the horizon, just stunning. Very very isolated, just what we wanted, but a well stocked shop in Drummore itself, about a 5-10 minute drive. Plenty of local walks around the cliffs, good footwear definitely needed. Binoculars are an absolute must to fully appreciate the lovely area. Lovely lovely cottage that we hope to return to in the future 😍😍

Very nice house, really spacious and also cosy. Spotlessly clean and well equipped. The location is great, really peaceful and quiet. The view from the house down to the sea is fantastic, spent a lot of time sitting in the swivel chairs or in the garden looking at the view. Lots of places to visit nearby and lots of wildlife to see. Would recommend a stay at Helensdale.
