“We had a great visit. The staff was really friendly and helpful, the coffee was good at breakfast (very important). The most important thing when we travel are the beds, and they were great so we slept well. The only thing that put it down a little was the AC in the room which was really noicy at times. As we only were there over a weekend for a competition, we didn't have time to check out the area, but it seemd friendly enough. I'm sure we will be back for next years competition.”

“Appena arrivati, senza un buongiorno o altro, il recepsionista (secondo me proprietario della struttura) con un bel sorriso mi ha chiesto 20€ cash, usando l’espressione; alla napoletana. 10 sarei potuto essere d’accordo, mentre gli altri 10 non erano assolutamente dovuti per il ns cane snauser di 8 kg!. Quando ho educatamente reclamato, mi ha risposto; ma io devo mangiare e te sei italiano!. Questo sfortunatamente dopo che ha visto la mia macchina che per ragioni di sicurezza ho dovuto...

“La struttura è molto recente, moderna e ben curata. Letto confortevole e cuscini comodi per un riposo ideale. Il personale è gentile e disponibile nel soddisfare le tue richieste e necessità. Il bagno nella camera è abbastanza ampio ed è dotato di ottime rifiniture. La doccia è molto spaziosa. Per la colazione a buffet ritengo che sia un po’ scarsa. Ci sono prodotti salati, ma come Brioches e dolci è molto scarsa; unica pecca da migliorare.”

Decebalus is considered a national hero in Romania and has been portrayed in numerous literary works, movies, public sculptures, and other memorials.

The rock sculpture of Decebalus (Romanian: Chipul regelui dac Decebal) is a 42.9 m (141 ft) in height and 31.6 m (104 ft) in width carving in rock of the face of Decebalus (r. AD 87–106), the last king of Dacia, who fought against the Roman emperors Domitian and Trajan to preserve the independence of his country, which corresponded to modern Romania.
The sculpture was made between 1994 and 2004, on a rocky outcrop on the river Danube, at the Iron Gates, which form the border between Romania and Serbia. It is located near the city of Orșova in Romania.
It is the tallest rock relief in Europe.

The project of sculpting the colossal head of Decebalus was the brainchild of a wealthy Romanian businessman, Iosif Constantin Drăgan. In 1985, Drăgan chose the rock to be sculpted, an outcrop 128m in height located in the area of Iron Gorge, Danube. Perhaps one of the reasons Drăgan chose this site was due to the fact that the Tabula Traiana, a memorial to the Roman conquest of Dacia, was located on the opposite side of the river.
After the sculpture was completed Latin inscription was put beneath it and is: DECEBALUS REX DRAGAN FECIT, which meant “King Decebalus, made by Dragan”.
The best photographs are made while cruising if you are visiting from serbian side or from a bridge if you are already in Romania.

"Hotel posizionato a 15 min a piedi dal centro storico ma di fronte ad un parco fitto di vegetazione e la mattina si poteva “giocare” con gli scoiattoli. Il parcheggio esterno era gratuito ma sicuro oppure Interno a pagamento ma non ne abbiamo usufruito. La piscina coperta bella e rilassante. La colazione varia ed abbondante ha soddisfatto tutti i gusti dolci e salati e la sala molto grande e carina rendeva ancor più piacevole il tutto. Il pezzo forte era la nostra suite costituita da due stanze due bagni e terrazzino che la facevano sembrare un appartamento privato enorme e confortevole."
