We rented a unit 2 with a private hot tub even though the unit was not updated. It was the only reason we rented unit 2. When we arrived we were told the hot tub was not working and because of the holiday, they were unable to get the part to fix it. We were in the public hot tub when another couple told us they were given the exact same excuse when they rented unit 2 over a holiday last year. Coincidence? We would have rented a different unit that was not as run down as unit 2. The owners knew we were coming for a long time and had plenty of time before our arrival to make sure the hot tub was in working order. We were not given a discount for the inconvenience. The fireplace is on a one hour timer, when the timer goes off, the fireplace will not restart for at least 30 min, sometimes longer. Be aware of the early checkout of 10 am if you have a later flight. We requested a later checkout and were denied which just topped our experience. The unit was clean but the chairs in the dining were falling apart with huge seat indentations. We were only provided with two trash bags. The location was the only good thing about our experience. I would request renting a different unit at Pennays. It is not our job as guests to confirm everything is in working condition before arrival, it should be assumed we are getting exactly what is advertised and what we paid for.
