Came here for my daughter’s highschool softball tournament for 3rd year in a row and stayed at the Super 8 Motel past years and it was clean, friendly and excellent customer service. Chose to stay here at the Best Western because we brought our new puppy with us. Huge mistake! The room was so gross, bathroom was foul, tub and toilet were so disgusting!! I actually had to stop looking because it was so incredibly gross!! The baseboards were scary with the amount of filth that they had on them. The walls looked fuzzy and had marks everywhere. I have never left a review good or bad for a hotel before, but this was one so foul and disgusting that I felt obligated to share with others. I wouldn’t let my family walk in the room with their shoes off and we keep everything up on the table, chairs or shelves because I was so afraid of what would crawl in our bags at night. We only had to stay one night, which was tough or else I would have cancelled my room and gone over to the Super 8 because they are dog friendly as well. I will never stay at this Best Western in Susanville ever again!! Best Westerns are normally pretty decent, middle of the road, but this one was absolutely disgusting. Walking into my daughters room at the super 8, because she stayed there with her team and the difference in cleanliness was noticed as soon as I stepped in her room. I felt so gross having to go back to our slum. Do yourself a favor and pass on the Best Western in Susanville

The room was pretty nice, but there were some black hairs on the back top of the toilet by the towels. So I cleaned that off. Otherwise, sheets, and overall cleanliness were really good. It was a comfortable room, the guy at the desk was really professional, and told me where I could go for a run on an old railroad trail that was awesome. Buzz Johnson. I recommend it. I was looking forward to a good night sleep, but the traffic never stops. It is a trucking route, so you'd be wise to ask for a room as far back from the road as you can get.

Front desk was efficient and knowledgeable. Room was clean; beds good. Facility not full but room occupied above us sounded like elephants pounding. Why must motels stack guests rather than spread us out?

We liked the TV channels. The light switches were dirty. I had to clean them with clorox wipes. The white wood going into the bathroom was very dirty. It was white after i cleaned it. We paid extra for the jetted bath tub but it looked disgusting and old. The wood trim did not get updated like the rest of the room. Very sad to pay for upgrades at a hotel and skimp on some areas. One sink did not have a stopper. This room, 145, should not be rented out until this is taken care of. The room looked very tacky and unclean. Lots of garbage in the parking lot. Room 146, we got changed to, dirty too and the fridge was making some kind of gurgling sound, we unplugged it. The price is not worth the 150.00 we had to spend. Best Western owners need to visit this location. Subpar compared to other properties we have visited and will not return to this location.

The room and beds were okay, just could use some updating. The heaters in the rooms are old and do not work well. The staff was very nice and helpful when we requested help with the heater. They do offer an excellent breakfast at the restaurant next door. Nice hot, fresh with real eggs.

Last night on the road
We encountered a horrible rain storm on our drive, so happy to see the motel. The room was comfortable and clean the bathroom was our only complaint We couldn't make the soap dispenser work, i had a bar of soap in my bag. too wet to go out to question if there was soap in the dispenser. The water was very scant but it all worked out.

Everything was great. Checking in and out was easy, and both ladies were nice. When we checked in she gave us a great dinner recommendation that was in walking distance. Our room was clean and comfortable. Free breakfast next door was fabulous!!!

Easy location in the center of town & ample parking. Beds were worn to the point that the springs creaked at any movement. Lots of dust on light fixtures & moldings.

It was quiet and the breakfast next door at the lumberjack was a great concept for providing meals to the hotel guests. The refrig did no work and the heater was very noisy. for whatever reason there were a lot of flies in our room (killed over 7 of them)

Overnight stay and enjoyed the front desk staff and the (almost) remodeled room, two things left off their “to do list” finish the bathroom (some black mildew on caulking) and replace the (excessively) hard bed. The breakfast at “The LumberJack” made up for the other two misses

If you’re on the first floor you may have a very noisy upstairs neighbor. During my stay the people upstairs clumped around with hobnail boots, moved the furniture around scraping the floor, kids laughed and played and the TV was very loud. Fortunately they all went to sleep by 11 PM. When they moved out in the morning it was like they were moving a circus full of trailers and elehants all over the place into the parking lot. otherwise it was great.

The staff were great. The hotel is being remodeled one room at a time and we loved ours. There was a little problem with the bathroom door sticking and there could be a little more light in the alcove where the coffee maker and fridge are.

Everything was great except the noise from people staying in the room upstairs. Every step they took could be heard by us. It was fhe floor creaking with each step.

Everything looks good on the outside, But the rooms are dirty, thick old dust on everything, shower to tub nasty missing caulking, no bath fan, sink missing center, dry wall sheet rock power still on floor from rocking chair rubbing on the wall. I don't care if its old, but these rooms are gross
