    Incastonati nella tranquilla frazione di Acton, a solo un miglio dal mare e dalle scogliere del delizioso Ledgege, questi due affascinanti cottage di Grade II sono ricavati da giardini arredati. Offrendo sistemazioni accoglienti per coppie con un sacco di fascino rustico (con travi basse e circonda il fuoco di pietra), occupano entrambe le estremità di una fila di tre in una zona protetta, offrendo splendide viste verso Swanage Bay e molte eccellenti passeggiate lungo i sentieri costieri o attraverso affascinante villaggi, tre locande si trovano a un miglio e mezzo. Swanage, 2½ miglia, offre una bella spiaggia sabbiosa insieme a molte altre attrazioni, tra cui negozi, ristoranti e locande, un teatro e una vasta gamma di strutture sportive. Bournemouth 25 miglia. Poole 20 miglia. Negozi ½ miglio e pub 1 miglio.

    Si prega di notare che la proprietà ha soffitti bassi e le porte e le scale sono ripide e strette, quindi potrebbero non essere adatte ai meno mobili.
    Da Londra prendere la M3, M27 e A31 verso ovest. Proseguire fino alla rotonda con l'A350 per Poole con indicazioni a sinistra. Seguire questa strada fino a raggiungere una grande rotonda - Poole a sinistra, Dorchester a destra. Prendi la doppia carreggiata per Dorchester. Dopo una breve distanza arriverete ad una rotonda, girate a sinistra sulla A351 per Wareham. A Wareham seguire le indicazioni per Corfe Castle. Subito dopo aver lasciato Corfe Castle, girare a destra per Langton Matravers. Guida su per la collina e attraversa il villaggio di Kingston, sempre sulla stessa strada. Passa la 1a e 2a svolta a destra firmate Worth Matravers, quindi svolta a destra di fronte alla cabina telefonica firmata Acton. I cottage sono sulla sinistra.

Had a lovely 4 day break. The cottage itself is really lovely and cosy but with no central heating it was very cold. There is little electric heaters in every room but the electric which you pay for at the end of the stay is very expensive. There is also a woodburner which heats the room beautifully the only downside is there are no instructions and if you have never come across a woodburner before is difficult to use. Also no wood is left to start the fire when you first arrive. No welcome pack at all not even a couple of teabags.But it is still a lovely cottage and we loved our stay and will go back.

Bittersweet

The cottage is cute and in a lovely rural location; an easy distance from Swanage with its bars and restaurant. The cottage itself was basic and was an okay base but with a few tweaks, could be so much better. To begin with, I didn’t receive any access instructions and spend a few stressful hours at the start of my stay trying to contact the host; I was in a telephone loop! On finally getting in, there was no instructions left by the host apart from an A4 sheet which asked that the property be left in a clean and tidy manner and to ask for more cleaning products if needed! The sofa was uncomfortable as was the bed. The kettle needed descaling, and the shower attachment let out either very hot or very cold water! The wood burner (for which fuel was not provided), burned up the wood but provided little heat. The heating, for which you pay as an extra, did little to actually heat the cottage. So whilst the place looked nice, it wasn’t the most comfortable of stays. However, if you don’t intend to spend much time there, it’s a good location to explore the local sights, which were awesome.

Had a lovely relaxing break Great place as a base Only thing, sofa & chair not very comfortable, it needs a comfy sofa , but we were out & about most of the time Cottage overall was lovely & would definitely book again

Loved the cottage but if you are tall be warned! I am 5'7"and struggled with doorways. Log fire difficult as nowhere 'local'really had logs and lack of local knowledge made finding these awkward without using holiday time. We used electric heating which was expensive. Lovely little cottage.

Lovely little cottage. Unbelievably uncomfortable sofa but gorgeous bed so this is a perfect cottage if you're going to be out and about most of the day /evening (great pubs nearby) Felt a bit strange having to pay for the electricity on top of the normal rent but it didn't amount to much (£1.27) - an even more compelling reason for the owner not to bother as the goodwill lost for the sake of such a sum seemed rather ill judged. We did take a crate of logs for the log burner which worked well so didn't need the extra, optional electric radiators, depsite it being the coldest, wettest weekend of the year so far (thanks Storm Alex!! and thank heavens for an effective washer/dryer) Excellent location though to get out and explore the Ridge. We so enjoyed our holiday , the cottage is cosy and the log burner was toasty in the evenings. Cliff top Walks to die for on the doorstep and one of the best pubs ever is a mile’s walk away. The dog loved it too!

A lovely cottage with all the amenities you need and a well equipped kitchen, just a 20 minute walk down to Dancing Ledge and the coastal path. Just a very short drive to Swanage where there are plenty of shops and pubs. The cottage is very cold in the evenings, but there are heaters. Bring your dog's bed and a pair of slippers as the tiled floors are also very cold

The cottage was good and the location is fab.

The cottage was good and the location is fab. It was chilly though so do be prepared to use the log burner. It would have been really helpful to have a folder in the cottage with info about how to use the heating, bin collection days plus local amenities. WiFi wasn’t great, which was ok for us but could have been tricky if you needed to work. Parking was to be in the yard next door but there was a large party staying with many cars so there wasn’t space for us. This might not be typical though. we had a problem with the hot water and this was sorted on the same day, which was much appreciated. Very comfy bed and great location for walking. There’s also a bus stop at the end of the road.

Nice cottage, good location for exploring coastline etc. Our dog enjoyed all the walks accessible from the door as did we. Need to be careful with low beams and would highly recommend the owner invest in a new shower as the one in the bath is extremely poor.
