TDCJ Polunsky Unit: Tour e Visite Guidate

The toilet in our room rocked every time you sat on it and needed to be bolted down. The service in the restaurant for breakfast was poor at the least. There was a fire Sunday morning. We had to evacuate the hotel down five flights of stairs. When we returned we had to climb five flights of stairs. We gathered our belongings and left and took our suitcase, down five flights of stairs when the fire alarm went off, you could not hear it in the hallways. You could only hear it in the stairwell so we really did not know what was going on as to why we needed to evacuate. everybody was very confused. The hotel needs a serious update. The pool was nice, but it was not clear. It was kind of cloudy.

All 4 guest elevators were inoperable. In talking with airline staff who stay on a normal basis, this occurs regularly. We were able to use a service elevator to move our luggage. The shower was dirty. Common area had trash that was not picked up. This was early morning so maybe someone would clean later.
