I completely understand that hotels need construction and upgrades. What I don’t understand is how a remodel at this level doesn’t require a temporary closure.
This property currently does not live up to Hampton standards in any way. The lobby has half-laid tile with separation stakes still sticking up—an obvious safety hazard and an accident waiting to happen. That alone should be unacceptable.
Adding insult to injury, the nightly rate is wildly out of line with the condition of the hotel. Charging full price for a property in this state feels unreasonable at best.
I’m also very disappointed in Expedia for representing this hotel with photos that clearly appear to be from when the hotel was new—or idealized renderings of what it hopes to be. What’s advertised does not match reality.
I’m a loyal Hampton customer, which makes this experience especially frustrating. This property should either significantly reduce rates during construction or close until it can meet the standards Hampton is known for.
