  • Dimora di gusto inglese costruita nel 1939 a cura del vecchio ricchissimo proprietario Sir. Robert Pretty Barlow, estimatore della bellezza e del vivere bene. Precursore della moderna cultura, ospitò scrittori, pittori e viaggiatori illustri. Egli stesso viaggiatore, contribuì a far conoscere Taormina a molti dei suoi connazionali e non solo.
    L'appartamento è situato al primo piano della dimora in posizione centralissima e panoramicissima, con vista sull' Etna, sulla Baia di Giardini Naxos e sulla Badia Vecchia, uno dei monumenti più significativi della città.

Weekend aTaormina Antica Badia

Abbiamo trascorso un piacevolissimo fine settimana. L’appartamento è elegante, accessoriato di tutto, spazioso e si trova in ottima posizione a due minuti dal corso principale. Molto consigliato. Siamo stati accolti con grande cortesia e massima disponibilità da Furio col quale speriamo di rivederci ancora.

A terrific apartment just a five minute walk down steps to the Main Street. Well equipped kitchen with nice bathrooms, plenty of towels and an outdoor balcony.. Furio was a gracious host. We had trouble initially connecting with him by phone, but once connected he was very helpful with arranging valet parking and terrific restaurant recommendations. The apartment if right across the street from the Hotel Continental which has a great buffet breakfast and a rooftop bar with a terrific view.

This place was perfect. Super clean, cute, with amazing views. Host (Furio) was amazing (restaurant recommendations, use of his private beach club membership, etc.). Would deforest recommend for one or two couples.

This is the most magical place we stayed at during our trip to Sicily. Furio the host is most helpful. The apartment is beautiful and very comfortable. We would love to come back.

Furio and Paola are the very best hosts! The house is situated in easy walking distance to the Corso Umberto and restaurants. The Hotel Continental across the street has rooftop breakfast and bar. Paola helped make dinner reservations and gave so many good suggestions. I highly recommend staying with these hosts! Five Stars.

Furio was an amazing host! He helped line up a valet to park the car (a must!!) and made reservations at two terrific restaurants—among our best meals in Italy! The attractive apartment is in great location with fantastic views of Mt Etna and the sea, and within easy walking distance of everything.

Everything about our stay was five star.Furio and Paola did everything to make the stay wonderful. Arranged for Parking, allowed us to check in in the morning. Called in dinner reservations as well as arrange a private tour. Highly recommend this apartment for cleanliness and location. A little noisy in the morning but nothing crazy.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Location provided an easy walk to the center for everything you might need. The daily view from the VRBO of Mt Etna and the Mediterranean was beautiful. Our hosts, Paola and Furio were wonderful. They made our time in Taormina and many other east coast cities and towns, priceless!

Badia Vecchia was everything we wanted and expected...even more! Furio & Paola were fabulous hosts - welcoming and orienting us, helping with (too much / too heavy) luggage, being sure we had plenty of water and coffee, providing restaurant recommendations, both in Taormina and our other planned Sicily stops. Firstly Paola and Furio were amazing hosts. So kind, hospitable and helpful and very responsive if you ever need anything. The apartment itself was located in an amazing spot, everything is on your doorstep (after stepping down some steep steps). The views from both rooms are exceptional of both the sea and Mount Etna. The kitchen is well equipped (no dishwasher). Everything was very clean and we felt very safe there. Accessibility point: lots of steps to get into the property which is very common all over the town). An amazing stay all round.

Wonderful rental property with excellent hosts, Furio & Paola. They were both super helpful during our entire stay. Loved the location of the property as it was just a couple minutes walk down to Corso Umberto. Highly recommend this rental.

Amazing views and location!

Our hosts were terrific! They suggested several places to eat and all were great. The location is superb for visiting Taormina - a three minute walk to main area. Wonderful stay!

This stay was even more than we could have hoped for. The hosts were excellent communicators, both before our stay and during. They helped us coordinate parking (think valet service - and they were quick!). They met us upon arrival to walk us through the apartment, provide restaurant recommendations, and even made restaurant/attraction calls on our behalf. They really went over and beyond! The apartment is super comfortable; they even provided us with water and espresso pods. The location was a short walk to restaurants and shops, but in a quiet neighborhood. This is a WOW stay.

The apartment was beautiful and beautifully furnished. The views to the sea and to Mt. Etna were spectacular! The rooms were spacious, and the terrace was lovely. The hosts were simply the best possible, and they made our trip to Taormina by giving us excellent suggestions of how to plan and the right restaurants to go to. Their suggestions which we followed were perfect! Parking, which is a serious problem in Taormina, was arranged by the host and was both convenient and reasonable. We left our car parked for the entire stay, but we could have had in and out access during the day had we needed to explore further afield. Both the host and his wife were available throughout our stay for any questions or assistance, and the host was present at checkout to assist us. We loved our time there, and we owe most of that to the lovely accommodations and the kind and helpful suggestions from our hosts. We would definitely stay there again and we highly recommend it.
