We stayed there in 2 family rooms.
I can confidently say this was the worst experience we have had.
The staff were very rude.
The breakfast was unacceptable, so poor that it would have been better if none had been offered. Coffee had to be requested, after over 10 mins, it was served in a chipped cup, cold & undrinkable. We had to leave & eat breakfast outside.
The hotel advertises a swimming pool, but guests are required to pay $25 to use it, a clear case of misleading promotion.
Rooms were filthy & unpleasantly odorous. The bedsheets were old & worn, the duvets had no covers & smelled terrible, the towels were rough & of very poor quality.
The most unprofessional & insulting experience came at check-out. 2 receptionists were present, 1 went to inspect the rooms, claiming he needed to check if we had forgotten something. He returned 10 mins later with a pillow cover, pointing out a tiny reddish spot and telling us we might need to pay a fine for it. On already dirty & unhygienic linen, this accusation was absurd. Nevertheless, he made us wait a further 10 mins while they washed it to see if the mark would come out. Only then did he dismiss the matter, saying ok. The episode was unprofessional, insulting & deeply inappropriate.
I am not writing this review based on UK or EU hotel standards. Even by the lowest & most basic international standards, Leader falls far below what could be considered acceptable. Frankly, its a hotel that shouldn’t be operating in its current state.
