  • Inspired by @williamJones I went down to south Florida. I also went down to visit family :D. Granted, I had to capture a few landscapes along the way. I left Atlanta at 3:30 PM and got into Key Largo at 3:00 AM. Slept for a couple hours in my car and went in search of a sunrise. I hoped to find a dock falling into the water, but this was just as good. I also went from 37 degrees to 74 degrees. That was interesting.

A four out of five

We had a great week in the Keys thanks to the cooperative weather during our stay. The grounds around the property are well maintained and the pool is a refreshing reprieve from the hot summer sun. We generally have positive feedback regarding the unit however we experienced some annoyances as well. Because we didn't make any complaint during our stay we can't fault the owner since he wasn't made aware. These are the pros and cons. PROS: unit was clean, photos were accurate and true, communications were clear and timely and check-in was smooth. The master bed was comfortable (firm mattress), and the cookware was in good condition to facilitate meal prep. The kitchen seems newly renovated with good quality LG appliances for the fridge and dishwasher. CONS: the mattresses in the second bedroom are in need of an upgrade - both family members complained they were uncomfortable. Other than the decent cookware the kitchen lacked other items - there was only one cereal bowl, no potholders or oven mitts, the can opener didn't work, no scissors or dish drying rack. Also the water pressure in both showers was low. Overall the positives outweigh the negatives but attention to these issues could make this a truly great rental.

Great trip and nice property!

The property was clean, comfortable, quiet and well-furnished with all the amenities we needed and a great view. (We saw a large ray breach from our balcony!) The pool and beach were very nice and a great draw for our kids. We really enjoyed this location as both Key Largo and Islamorada were a short drive and we had lots of great dining options handy - as well as a large grocery store and pharmacy. What more do you need?

Excellent stay in the Keys!

Excellent resort-style condo in the central Keys! Perfect location that made the entire Keys accessible. We were able to easily navigate daily trips up to Key Largo all the way down to Key West. This condo had an incredible view of the Atlantic side! Two full bedrooms and baths. We chose this place because of the resort-style amenities and they were incredible - private beach was wonderful and we caught a bunch of hermit crabs with the kids; beautiful resort-style pool. We played tennis and pickleball almost every day! A lot of the single-family homes seem attractive for privacy but this place gave us 10 times more of a better experience for less money and we're thrilled with it. Very clean, lots of towels, good working appliances, etc. All the little things were taken care of. Great communication by host. Ultimately, Tavernier itself is a great landing spot for the Keys and this was a beautiful place for our family that provided more than we could've hoped for.

Great property!

Perfect location for a FL Keys adventure! The property was well maintained and awesome amenities. The unit itself was clean and perfect for our family of four. The only negative is the tiny balcony for enjoying the water view. Close to some great restaurants and snorkel adventures!

Great getaway

Condo at Tavernia

It suited our needs well. The property has a nice pool area and man made beach and pier. There’s a food truck outside the pool which was nice on days we wanted something quick to eat while at the pool. The room has a small balcony with ocean view in the distance. The kitchen and living room area were spacious and comfortable.

Great location and great view from balcony. Very accommodating and let us check in a few hours early! Unit was very clean upon arrival and had everything we needed. Beach area and pool were great and everyone was very friendly. Would definitely stay here again!

Communication was outstanding!

We came to the Keys for a family wedding and needed additional housing for 4 days. This property was perfectly located to everything we had to drive to. The check-in was great, the unit was very clean and spacious. We did have a small hiccup with the garbage disposal which was very quickly taken care of by Largo. His communication was exceptional during our entire stay. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to friends and family!

Ocean Pointe

The property fit our family perfectly. The view from the balcony was beautiful, but very small. We enjoyed both the pool and the beach during our stay. We also rented a two person kayak which was amazing! I would recommend packing water shoes, as the coral rocks on the beach are very sharp. We enjoyed all the wildlife! On nice days there were not enough chairs for everyone, at pool or beach, which was frustrating. This was our second time to Ocean Pointe, and we will be back. We would love to see the restaurant and bar and beach activities resume! Thanks so much for sharing your place with us! Happy 2024.

Our stay was wonderful - excellent accommodations, the big pool and hot tub a plus for sure, and the condo was just perfect for our family. The condo has great views and is an excellent location for a family vacation. Absolutely loved it!!

Kool Keys

Very happy with our stay. First time in the Keys, so the property was central to the excursions we took. In hindsight, we should have done less of those and stayed closer to the property. The building is in the midst of renovations, but there were no interruptions or perceptible noise from that. Nice pool/hot tub, including a bar and on-site pizza from a food truck. Tip - keep your footwear close to the pool in hot weather. You'll thank me later. Lots of great local food and spots for Cuban coffee. Great communication with the owner, very polite and helpful. The tarpon feeding at Robbie's in Islamorada was a highlight, keep your eyes on the pelicans so they don't steal your fish! Key West was lots of fun, especially the sunset dinner cruise. Got to meet the owner of the Hogfish Bar in Stock Island, with a photo for proof! Great trip, even better memories! Can't wait for next time!
