“Only reason service and staff get low marks is there is none except the cleanup crew. There also is no deadbolt in the door, but the lock is in decent shape. It's not the prettiest place but you cannot beat the location. 20 seconds walk to the shore, Trading post, Blue Water Cafe and various breweries as well as Java Moose. If you're just looking for a clean place to rest your head in a primo location, it's a good choice.”

“There's a beautiful common area with a pool table, bumper pool, a fireplace and lots of books and puzzles. Snacks for purchase in the lobby. Real old-fashioned cabin feel. Stayed in a motel room with lovely cabin interior, with deck looking out to the lake, kitchenette and comfortable beds. Very friendly staff. And at a very affordable price for the north shore.”

“Had an absolutely wonderful stay loved the 1950s decor and the steel vault doors on bathroom and closet doors are awesome I loved having the windows open and natural air conditioning blowing in from lake Superior was a real treat so much better than air conditioning the staff here is super friendly and nice and hard-working as well and you get a lovely wake up call from the seagulls in the morning so no need to set an alarm clock. “I loved getting to experience how easy Grand Marais is to walk through from this location. Over ten restaurants and several other businesses are all within a 0.5 mile walk of this unit, most much closer. The weather didn't cooperate until the final day of my stay, but I never felt a draft inside even as 40+ mph winds were coming off the East Bay. Host was great. My bathtub started leaking through the ceiling downstairs (not part of the rental unit) but the host made the repairs while I was out...
