“We loved our stay at Saju Kyoto. We arrived early and they looked after our bags until it was time to check in. When we checked in we were served matcha tea and Japanese cakes in our room. The room was very tiny but so comfortable, cosy and traditional. The futons were the most comfortable beds we had during all our time in Japan! The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. The views from the rooftop on Sun or exceptional. The staff even pointed out a private entrance that we could use to avoid traveling through the lobby. It is not a material luxury experience (there are many others who fit this expectation), so much as an unintentional unmannicured view into the past of old Kyoto. Very dreamy for me at least!. It felt like returning to my granny's house in post war Setayaga. Special. There are exceptional people among the staff whose heart beats echo mine and that era.”

“The rooms and staff are amazing, so I plan on staying here again. The bathtubs with fizzy bubbles are kind of a gimmick, especially if you are used to strong jacuzzi’s. Really liked the room delivered breakfast (breakfast in bed!), but the “Western” breakfast has a strong Japanese influence to it. ”
