“On arrival our room was upgraded to a large seaview room with a walk in shower which was a very nice welcome. The Pump room bar is excellent with a cozy atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food both at breakfast and in the evening venues is top notch. Dining is a particular highlight which should not be missed with a very good menu expertly prepared and served to a really high standard. ”

“On the whole defo 5*! Great location and views. Very friendly staff. Has Indoor swimming pool and we had Breakfast included. Has a bar / lounge area and a welcome feel. Will mention rooms and hotel are a bit dated and onsite parking but limited. But I don’t think they pretend to be a modern hotel. ”

“There was no light on the Holloway. No parking until 7pm. Entrance was not very welcoming. Though house was spacious. ”

“The property is situated in a great part of Southsea, you can get to the beach relatively quickly and there are plenty of attractions around. The property itself is in need of a spruce up and a thorough deep clean, it feels a bit tired throughout. Our children were wearing light coloured socks and due to the hard floors not being cleaned properly, they were all filthy when we left. For a property that sleeps 10, there is only 1 bathroom which was surprising, especially if everyone is trying...

“The whole building was unique. unusual but very comfortable. We could have done with another chair in the Room.....but other than that fine. 'Mine host ' was very friendly and helpful. We had a bit of banter.”

“Really great location, building and facilities in a beautiful spot. We were taking a cruise the next day and stayed at this hotel because of the location to the coast. We had ocean views from our room. The hotel itself is very well preserved and very charming. The bar and restaurant were first class as well. Would definitely stay again. ”
