“The Powder HOuse Lodge is right off Highway 16A and except for some traffic noise, we abolutely loved it. The staff was amazing expecially the wait staff in the restaurant. The restaurant serves delicious meals. Everything we tried was mouth wateringly good. The cabins were lovely, spacous and comfortable with two queen beds, a TV, AC, microwave, and mini fridge and a porch with porch swing to enjoy the beauty. “I only wanted a room for the night — but got much better with the views and the pool and a nice short order restaurant. The golf course looks great. Casinos aren’t my thing but others seemed to be having fun. Still, odd to find such a great place this in the far northwestern corner of Iowa amidst the cornfields!”

“The room was spacious…windows were filthy. The breakfast was not very good with limited options. No cream for coffee. Location was off the beaten path which was fine for us. We would probably stay elsewhere if we return to the area.”
