Il Gate Cottage è uno splendido cottage a ristorazione indipendente situato in riva al mare nel pittoresco villaggio di Kames. Splendidamente presentato il cottage è pieno di fascino moderno e fascino di campagna scozzese, perfetto per gli ospiti che sono alla ricerca di comfort e relax. Ideale per famiglie o coppie che desiderano godersi questa magnifica regione.

Dotato di tre camere da letto, questo cottage magnificamente restaurato è stato l'originale Gate House di Ardlamont Estate. La posizione e la vista sul Kyles of Bute sono un punto culminante.

Con spazi aperti e vista sul mare per godere Gate Cottage è nient'altro che caldo e accogliente. La zona giorno open space è dotata di cucina, sala da pranzo e zona salotto, un ampio soggiorno con finestre perfette con vista sul mare. Il soggiorno principale è pieno di comodi divani in pelle e un fuoco a legna. Una stanza meravigliosa per godersi notti intime.

La cucina è molto ben attrezzata, completa di cucina elettrica, piano cottura, forno a microonde, lavastoviglie e frigo / congelatore. Dalla cucina c'è un ripostiglio con lavatrice e asciugatrice, uno spazio in più per riporre stivali e cappotti bagnati.

Il cottage ha tre camere da letto, la camera da letto principale con un bagno en-suite, entrambe spaziose e invitanti. C'è una camera doppia con vista sul mare e una camera da letto matrimoniale che condivide il bagno di famiglia con vasca / doccia, lavabo e wc.

Al di fuori
Il parco stesso è un paradiso da esplorare, con un ampio giardino per godere di ulteriori panorami sul Kyles of Bute e sui villaggi vicini. Con i mobili da giardino, goditi questa meravigliosa area nei pomeriggi pigri e assolati. I panorami sono spettacolari. Ci sarà anche una zona salotto sul lato riva della proprietà da aprile a ottobre per godersi le viste.

Gate Cottage è una base ideale per esplorare la costa occidentale della Scozia per passeggiate, pesca e visitare le numerose attrazioni circostanti. Oppure puoi semplicemente concederti del tempo per goderti l'atmosfera di questo splendido cottage vicino al mare.

Gorgeous views across the Kyles

Gate Cottage is cosy, well appointed and maintained. The location is ideal and the views stunning. We even saw an otter on the shore one evening. Easy walking distance to shops and restaurants.

A good cottage with lovely views. Good kitchen with plenty of utensils. Wonderful outside space (although gate not secure for families or dogs). Could do with some repairs being done but still a pleasant place to stay.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting

Gate Cottage is even more lovely than the pictures show - spacious and well decorated, and the setting is very peaceful, with a private side and back yard, and another grassy area across a quiet road that leads down to the rocky beach facing the Isle of Bute. The one thing to be aware of for visitors is that there's only a small (but very well stocked) market and a few restaurants, some only open at weekends, right in Kames, so you'll need to bring in most provisions from a supermarket in Dunoon, about a 45 minute drive away. But the kitchen is well equipped for cooking, and we were very happy to prepare dinner at home after exploring during the day. Overall, a beautiful place that we hope to return to!

Gate Cottage Christmas 2022

We stayed at Gate Cottage for Christmas 2022 (22nd - 27 Dec) The Cottage comfortably sleeps 6 and is fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge/freezer and all the kitchen equipment needed. The cottage is lovely and cosy with a log burner (enough logs for our 5 days stay). The Cottage is in the heart of the beautiful village of Kames, with Kyles of Bute literally on the door step. A wonderful home from home experience with wonderful surrondings on the lovely Argyll and Bute coastline.

Relaxing stay in a superb cottage

Very well equipped and thought out cottage with the most stunning views. 4 of us stayed here for 4 nights and were very comfortable. Easy to find, perfectly located and with perfect peace and quiet we are all feeling very relaxed after staying here. The information on local amenities was very welcome. We will be back!

Beautiful cottage in a stunning location!

The cottage is well equipped and well presented. Great kitchen and, although we didn’t cook anything too adventurous, we would have had the equipment to do so if we had wanted to, which often isn’t the case in other properties. Stunning views over the water from the open plan living area. Lovely garden, with a little hidden section higher up that would be great for kids to explore. The garden is enclosed but the fence facing the road is fairly wide and not Labrador proof. There are a few dog-friendly pubs and cafes within walking distance if you decide to eat out. Although we didn’t go away to watch tv, having Sky etc came in handy instead of having to plug in a laptop.

Christmas in Kames

The cottage was beautiful and in a great setting. We had just about everything we needed and had a very relaxing break with our two dogs. The only negatives were that we had to purchase our own logs as there was only one bag and the toilets and some kitchen utensils weren't as clean as they perhaps should have been. All in all however we would highly recommend this cottage as it is very spacious, has a large garden, two driveways and modern and comfortable accommodation.

Relaxing break

Lovely cottage. Delightfully presented and very comfortable. We felt very at home from the moment we arrived. Short of nothing at all! The views are breathtaking- what a stunning part of the world the Kyles of Bute are. Would not hesitate to recommend this cottage, and would love to return again some time!

Lovely location, super cottage

We had a wonderful week here in July . The cottage is comfortably equipped with everything to make our stay enjoyable and there was ample space for five of us. The shore front location is superb and we relished the wonderful views, which change with time of day and weather. We saw lots of interesting birds, seals and even some porpoises on the boat ride from Tighnabruaich pier. Well worth it. Porthavadie Marina spa is lovely and very affordable for a jacuzzi with a view. Kames Hotel is great for dinner and their malts. Kames golf course is definitely worth a try, although a couple of holes are not for the faint hearted. We enjoyed the beauty and the peaceful nature of this location above all else. We hope to return soon.
