Thank you for your review. I understand your disappointment with your stay at the property, I imagine getting caught breaking entering along with stealing personal property on camera isn’t fun. Thank you for returning the stolen items. You’re welcome that I allowed your group to stay the remaining days.

This particular guests did not follow the house rules. They arrived and took the screens off every window, which allowed bats and other insects into the home. They also killed a bat, which is illegal. Bats are considered endangered. This is the northwoods and if you invite critters in, they will come. A bat, mosquitos, whatever it may be. If you leave garbage outside, a skunk, raccoon or bear may also visit. I am licensed by the county, worked with the county health department and the DNR regarding this particular guest and incident. I’ve never had an issue before - or after they left. The guests also caused significant damage to the interior of my home, which the licensed cleaning staff provided great documentation and pictures of. My cleaning staff is licensed with the state of Wisconsin. They provide before and after pictures of every guest stay and if there’s anything that is found to be illegal after a guests stay, they are required by law to report it. These guests were reported to the DNR.

As a host you try and please everyone and sometimes no matter what you do, it’s a battle to accomplish the impossible. I’m sorry things weren’t perfect for your vacation. Please know I try my best and sometimes, unfortunately at the end of the day it’s just not good enough for some.

I have never experienced such disrespect for my property such as how these guests left it. To say it simply - they completely trashed the place. I figured when I received a phone call from the County Sheriff that my guests had been stopped for fishing without a license and flew the scene was a sign of disrespect for the law and had better check on the property. Not only did the guests flee from law enforcement, they also disobeyed the law. The following is what I sent. I also have pictures of everything that I also provided to these guests. Pa - I’ve been struggling to find the words to write to you. I am beyond disgusted and disappointed that guests would treat my home so poorly and leave it in such a messy state. I’ve done a full assessment and reached out to the cleaning staff as well as a plumber. The house is a complete mess and disgusting both inside and out. There were cigarette butts all over the yard, along with vomit, food and garbage. A broken lawn chair and kayak paddle was also found in the garage. That’s in addition to the disgusting refrigerator, and 3 of the bathrooms that cannot be used until a plumber and cleaning staff spend hours in as they are covered in fences and vomit. Then there’s all of the towels that have either have been thrown away by your party (seen in the enormous amounts of trash) and those that need to be thrown away. In both cases, I need to purchase new towels for future guests. Attached is a bill for damages and the additional cleaning supplies that are needed. I am completely disappointed and disgusted by you and your family for the way that you have disrespected my home. Jody

My apologies that my northern vacation home didn’t meet a brides expectations. I had no idea there would be a wedding on the property! My home is well landscaped, not manicured. The home is secluded in northern Wisconsin, where you can expect the “wild” neighbors (bears, raccoons,skunks and other night time friends) to visit if the garbage is left out. In the north woods, garbage comes once a week. A visitor may also expect privacy, a clean house, (gutters have gutter guards and are cleaned three times a year), the sound of crickets at night when falling asleep with the windows open to the smell of fresh air. One may also expect a starry night sky on a clear night. As a home owner, I do not expect guests to physically relocate my dock that is IN the water, move furniture around inside the house, leave bottles of booze all over inside and out, or leave their personal belongs that they didn’t want to bring back home with them all over my garage.

Thank you for the review. I apologize for the disappointment in your stay. The home is located in northern Wisconsin. Occasionally, the weather is warm enough to open the windows :). The refrigerator is less than a year old and works perfectly when closed properly.
