The Legendary San Jose Casa su Fremont Street è nel quartiere storico di Tombstone. Il San Jose House, è stato costruito 1879 come prima pensione di Tombstone ed è una delle più antiche strutture di Tombstone. Siamo a poca distanza dalla strada principale, la Tombstone Epitaph e The Crystal Palace Saloon. Il San Jose casa è storicamente documentato, è apparso nei film, e anche True West Magazine.   • The Birdcage Theater is one of Tombstone's most authentic attractions and one of the West's most famous landmarks. Legend has it 26 people were killed in the Bird Cage during it reputed 8 years as one of the wildest and meanest places in Tombstone. Over 120 bullet holes remain in the building. The ladies of the night, plied their trade in cribs suspended from the ceiling in the building. 14 cribs lined the sides of the gambling hall, 7 on each side of the room. The ladies would pull the drapes to entertain their clients. Within these walls once drank and played the likes of Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, and members of the Cowboy faction, and Doc Holliday, who dealt faro in the gambling parlor. On one occasion, while Doc was dealing, one of his hated rivals, Johnny Ringo, passed by the table. Doc then murmured, "Care to buck the tiger, Johnny? It's the gustiest game in town." Upon hearing this, a drunken Ringo wheeled around, removed his bandana and said to Holliday, "Care to grab to the other end of this bandanna? This is the deadliest game in town." In those days when two men grabbed the opposite ends of a bandanna, they would then fire at each other at point-blank range, generally with both men winding up dead. Undaunted, Doc simply stood smiling, ready to accept the challenge, but ready to use knives, rather than guns. Curly Bill Brocius then interceded, grabbing Ringo and yelling, "Hell, Doc, he’s drunk!” Doc, who had also been drinking, like usual, answered, "Brocius, I drink more by 10:00 a.m. than he can all day." Doc then turned and walked away. One of its most famous distinctions was one of the longest running games of poker ever played. Seating seven players plus a dealer, the minimum buy-in was $1,000.00 and was played around the clock for, 8 years 5 months and three days.

Couldn’t sleep

Air conditioner was screeching all night. So loud we had to turn it off to try to sleep. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. When we informed them the next morning, their response was “ we can’t fix it it’s just old.” The shower head was also broke spraying & leaking everywhere.. I will say it was decorated cute.

An original building with character. Across the street from everything Tombstone offers. Not a modern motel. Had a comfortable bed, flat screen tv, and microwave and mini fridge

We enjoyed staying at the San Jose boarding house. Excellent location, comfortable accommodation. The owners were quick to respond to any questions I had. I will be booking here again if I visit Tombstone again

Convenient to all things Tombstone!

We enjoyed our stay at Tombstone. Apartment was clean and within walking distance to everything! It was nice to be able to walk back to the apartment when needed very easily. Bed was very comfortable. It was nice to have someone on site to give us clean towels when needed.

Enjoyed the experience of staying where figures of the Old West had stayed. Short walk to the historic section of Tombstone for sightseeing, shopping & dining. Parking would have been OK for tying up a horse, but not so good for vehicles. LOL Might be better if there were marked spaces. Last night there, someone parked a large pickup in front of the rooms & barely left room for 2 vehicles.

Awesome visit!

The stay was wonderful! Location was perfect and close to everything. You can walk to everything in Tombstone! We loved the historic room. Bed was comfy. Communication with Owner and management was great. Loved it and would stay again!

Bare basics, sparse amenities. Only thing going for this place was historic Tombstone. Very clean inside, but needs Maintenance outside rundown looking. Sporadic Internet, TV did not work ,kept cutting out. No checkout instructions.

Great Stay

Very Clean. Check-in & Check-out was seamless. Great location to walk to all Tombstone tourist attractions. Some basic cable would have been nice, but that is my only complaint.

Great Location

The location is right where you want to be. My wife and I would walk through the shops, drop things off and be back shopping in minutes because of how close we were. Great place, it is dated but we loved the rustic feel and it did have all the modern touches. We will definitely be back.

Wild West

The San Jose House is a perfect location to stay in Tombstone. Walking distance to Historic District about 2mins. A short walk to Boothill Graveyard. The room was great, rustic feel with all the amenities you need. Had deer come up the street and feed right next to my room in the early evening, that was so cool.

Proximity to downtown was great. The room was clean, but floor was uneven and the shower was TINY. The exterior looks uninviting, particularly the window sills.
