Capitol Reef Dome | Oak

Welcome to our geodesic dome near Capitol Reef National Park! Our unique dome is the perfect home base for exploring the nearby Capitol Reef National Park, Goblin Valley, World Famous Dirt Biking, and beautiful hikes all around. Inside, you'll find a partial kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Just outside your dome, you have a private full bathroom. The dome sleeps up to 2 people comfortably, making it a great option for couples and friends. Enjoy stargazing from the hammocks outside and explore all that this beautiful area has to offer. Built and run by our new small family! Book your stay today and experience the beauty of southern Utah!

We had an incredible stay at Capitol Reef Domes – Oak for our 16th anniversary and couldn’t recommend it more. Will, the owner, was polite and communicative from start to finish, which made everything feel seamless and stress-free. The dome itself was spotless and thoughtfully set up. The bed was super comfortable after a long day of exploring. The mini-split worked great and we were able to keep it a comfortable temperature. the whole space had that perfect mix of cozy and unique. We made use of the BBQ, which was convenient, and the fridge was exactly what you’d expect from a hotel—with a cuter retro vibe. The bathroom setup was excellent as well—assigned, very clean, and close enough to the dome to be totally convenient without taking away from the experience. One thing we appreciated more than expected was the location. The nearby highway actually made the dome easy to find, and noise was minimal and never disruptive. Plus, the proximity to all the Hanksville-area hotspots was fantastic—everything we wanted to see was just a short drive away. Overall, this was a memorable and comfortable stay with great attention to detail. We’d absolutely come back.

Really enjoyed our stay here! The “Dome” makes for a unique experience! They are very spacious. It was close to the road but the traffic wasn’t an issue. Appreciate the private bathroom! Would recommend staying here and we hope to come back sometime.

I thought this was a neat spot. The dome was really cute and well decorated! The only thing I think would be helpful for guests to know before booking is that they should bring their own water to drink. I appreciated the sign in the bathroom about the water, and while I had no issues bathing in it, it would have been hard for me to drink. I would have grabbed an extra gallon of water before I headed out.

Cool dome but area too bright at night

My husband and I stayed 1 night here as we were traveling through Utah. The dome was cool and the hosts were great. The only issue was the dome in front of us left thier outdoor lights on all night and they were so bright we had to close our curtains and didnt get to enjoy the night sky in the dome.

We would stay here again.

This was a fun place to stay and a nice setup. I always wanted to stay in a yurt. Very grateful for a warm bathroom. We enjoyed the BBQ and having a fire at night. We live in the city, and I always look forward going to a place where I can see lots of stars. It's a bit close to the highway, but we did not hear anything traffic during the night. We slept great! The heater worked great after we googled how to work it. The picture shows a blue, larger refrigerator and dinnerware, etc. in the cupboards. However, in the Oak Yurt, the fridge is half the size. I was surprised how much food we got in it. There was a bare minimal supply of paper goods. We brought our own because we figured we would be camping. We loved the large window and the view all around us. However, I was disappointed that the top was closed. The pictures show the top opened. I'm sure there's a good reason for it being closed up. All in all, it was a fun and nice place to stay. We had a great time. We would stay there again!!!

We loved the dome. Lots of games, bed was comfy, everything clean and inviting. Site was very secluded allowing great star gazing. Shaded firepit and lighting were an added bonus.
