🌌Northern Lights over Tromsø - Tromsø - Troms - Norway🇳🇴

➡️A couple of weeks I wrote a caption explaining the Northern Lights from a scientific view👨‍🔬, now it is time for the legends surrounding this amazing spectacle:

📜According to one legend, Odin, the chief god and ruler of Asgard, lived in Valhalla, where he was preparing for Ragnarök. This event was predestined and would be Odin’s greatest battle⚔️, so he needed the bravest warriors at his side. During every battle on Earth, Odin would pick the warriors who would die and join him in Valhalla. The Valkiries👸 were female warriors on horseback. who wore armour and carried spears and shields🛡️, were tasked with leading Odin’s chosen warriors to Valhalla. The Vikings believed the Northern Lights🌌 illuminating the sky were the reflections of the Valkyrie’s armour🛡️ as they led the warrior to Odin.

📜In several other legends, they claim the Northern Lights🌌 were the breath of brave soldier who died in combat or they were believed to be the Bifrost Bridge🌈, a glowing, pulsing arch which led fallen warriors to the their final resting place in Valhalla.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦But for the Sámi people, the Northern Lights🌌 didn’t tell stories of heroism and bravery, they believed that they were the souls of the dead💀, and they were to be feared and respected in equal measure, so you shouldn’t talk🗣️ about them or even waving👋, whistling😗 or singing🎶 under them, as this would alert the lights to your presence and carry you up to the sky⬆️. Nowadays, many Sámi people stay in their homes🏠 when the Northern Lights are illuminating the sky🌌.

“Sicuramente da consigliare il soggiorno presso questa struttura, riservata, silenziosa, colazione a buffet eccellente, personale cordiale e disponibile. Da rivedere un pochino per quel che riguarda la pulizia, capelli nelle lenzuola e doccia non propriamente pulita, ma è tutto superabile. Sarebbe utile se aggiungessero un servizio di navetta che parte ad orari prestabiliti per il centro della città, e viceversa, o almeno per la fermata del bus che dista 10/15 min a piedi, con i bagagli...

“Piccolo appartamento in posizione centrale, pulito e vicino a diversi supermercati/bar. Tavolo davvero piccolino per mangiare in 3. Sarebbe apprezzabile la presenza di una macchina per il caffè, di una spugna per i piatti, di un colapasta e di una scopa (anche condivisa, magari da tenere nella scala). Nel complesso, buono, ma se si pensa di usare la cucina, bisogna sacrificarsi un po'...”

“Ambiente piacevole, leti comoda, internet continuo e facilità di spostamento sua verso il centro città che all'esterno grazie a numerosi mezzi pubblici situati nelle immediate aduacenze. Purtroppo devo evidenziare l'aspetto della pulizia, in generale più che sufficiente ma lacunosa nel comparto cucina. Un paio di giorni prima della partenza volevamo usare il forno ma non ci è stato possibile in quanto lo stesso presentava macchie di residui di cottura oltre all'unto colato da una precedente...

“The structure is half new and half not refitting(it si similar to an hostel). The new part has tiny rooms without guardrobes, you need to left your clothest in the luggages. Breackfast is not vary And have not espresso coffee And fresh fruits and juices. At the check out they said I have consumed any food at the room bar but it si not true. After 1 day they have withdrawaled 15 euro from my bank account. Ver bad.”

“Absolutely stunning property, location and hosts. Prior to our visit Esther had double checked we wanted an apartment that had no cooking facilties...I had made an error and so thankful Esther had checked and allowed us to move into the large apartment instead. The spec of the property was amazing. We were lucky to witness the Northern Lights whilst in the lovely hot tub. Our hosts were so kind and thoughtful and we cannot wait to return. Thank you ”

"Nuovo e curato nei dettagli, attaccato all'aeroporto. Reception, lobby, bar e colazione all'11 piano molto accogliente con vista. Sotto ci dono un burger king, un pizzas e un supermarket. Le colonnine di ricarica sono pero' del tipo lento da soli 7kw al costo di un oo piu fi 5kr al kw ( come quelle molto più veloci della Enivy). Consigliatissimo ad inizio o fine tour dall'aeroporto di tromso."
