“We travelled 3 people + 1 dog The room was pleasant, a big double + sofa bed, however there was no mini fridge. We paid extra 20£ for the dog but there was no bowls made available or dog bed which is fine as we took our own but as we were paying extra it should have been provided. Parking was paid but better price as guests of the hotel. We found it noisy and we had difficulty sleeping until 1am as there was people talking and banging doors so it wasn't restful. “The room was decent and the bed comfortable. The issue we had was the bar had closed at 10.25pm and the bar staff wouldn’t serve us despite us having been told that it would be open until 11pm. We weren’t even allowed to add drinks to our bill and have them in our room because the barman said he’s closed all the tills. He said we could go to the local garage if we wanted to buy alcohol - not exactly what you expect when staying in a hotel.”

“A lovely stay just outside Bath The hotel looks stunning from the outside, especially in the evening when the façade and grounds are beautifully lit up. A real plus is the layout: the guest rooms are situated in a separate building away from the main bar and dining area, which meant our stay was peaceful and free from pub noise. Our room was surprisingly spacious, bright, and well equipped with all the essentials for a comfortable visit. The location worked out brilliantly for us as well....

We came to visit the Cotswolds, and this accommodation worked out quite well (it is a 40 mins-1h drive from the main villages). Things I loved: All the shared areas are well kept and organized, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good as well as the bistro and the cocktail bar in the library room. Penhalingon's products in the bathrooms Plenty of free parking space Things that need improvement: We stayed for 3 nights in a standard room, and it was okay. The room is quite comfortable and of a decent size, even though it’s quite old – I would suggest upgrading to a more premium room. The bathroom needs maintenance… the sink was extremely impractical to use, as it had two separate faucets: one for cold water and the other for hot water. As it is a very old mansion, the rooms are not soundproof, and we could hear every step and conversation from other guests. There was no fridge in the room and no bathrobes or slippers provided for the spa. The spa was disappointing. The main pool was cold, and the only available jacuzzi was too small and always crowded. Overall I am happy about my experience and I would come back as it is such a unique and beautiful location!"
