“Our best stay in South Africa by far. We stayed for 6 days. So sad to leave. Sandy looked after us and nothing was too much trouble. Our spacious room opened onto a terrace overlooking a beautiful pool and garden area. A great breakfast. Staff were excellent always smiling, in a great leafy quiet residential area and only a 5 minute walk to many shops and restaurants. We will be back when we return to South Africa ”

The beach and famous light house are 7 minutes walk and the area is safe and well patrolled. The hosts Bob and Sally could not be more helpful and friendly - even lent me his golf clubs but they didn’t work.”

“The Flamingo Lodge was great! Just a few minutes walk to Umhlanga Rocks beach and the famous Whale Bone pier. Surprisingly, it is really close to the Umhlanga action and restaurants, but peaceful inside. The Staff was great, they were quick to do anything that needed doing and had access or instructions for the various activities in the area. They even helped out with the 2 year. I will certainly stay again!”

Things which could be improved easily: - more careful room service (one day room was done by the housekeeping and the towel replacement was not provided, I had to call to have them back) - I had to ask for the shower mat and it disappeared again the following day.
