“It was great to have a little home base while we explore and hike the surrounding area. We also had it pretty nice and cool. Be warn, it doesn’t stay super cool all day as it was hot. It was around the 90s and the ac barely kept the place at 78 during the day. But you’re supposed to be out anyways. Pleasant stay.”

“My adult daughter and I were on our way back home from visiting her siblings and their spouses in Kansas. Stopped here overnight so we could hike around Starved Rock State Park before heading home. Checked all the boxes and when I’m back in the area I’ll bring my pups with me too! Beautiful quiet country location. ”

“This is our 3rd stay (maybe 4th). We love staying here when we watch our son play baseball in the area. It truly feels like home. The hosts are very attentive and go out of their way to make sure we are comfortable. We can't wait to return next summer!!!”

“It's a nice apartment, cheaply but competently renovated. There were cobwebs around when we arrived but otherwise it was clean. The beds are VERY nice, extremely comfortable which is so important. My biggest gripe, something not demonstrated in the listing, is the fact that the property directly borders an actve train teack, and when i say it's right outside I mean it is RIGHT outside. I was kept up the entire night one of the nights of our stay because of a pair of trains stopping and starting...

“We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back for more stays.The only thing missing was wash clothes and hand towels.I would add in the coffee is a kurig and not a actual coffee pot.I went to town and bought one for our stay.”

“We found this place a few years ago and loved it. When we realized it was open for a last minute Mother’s Day weekend trip we jumped on it. What a great place. Unique, interesting, with plenty of room for everyone. We’ll be happy to stay again in the future. ”
