This was a beautiful 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo, all furnishings in great condition and everything was clean. We especially liked the comfy king bed in one of the bedrooms. I give it an A rating.

Weekend getaway

Family Reunion

Peaceful Stay
My family and I had the best time ever, this place was amazing. Everything was well put together. I would definitely recommend this place and the host was very generous.

Great place.

First time at Starved Rock
Stayed here to hike at Starved rock. Was surprised how close it was. Very nice little town. Was very welcoming. Look forward to returning. Jacuzzi was a must after hiking all day.

Being in nature
One of the things that I liked about this property was that not only was it accessible to Starved Rock park, but the property itself was quite relaxing. The directions we received to find it we're also appreciated. I'm not sure we would've found it so quickly had we not received those instructions. The only thing I would say is that The pull out couch was not at all comfortable to sleep on. Of course, you can't find too many pull out sofas that are comfortable to sleep on 😀

Place of Peace
I really enjoyed our stay at this location. Beds were comfortable, jacuzzi was amazing, and just equipped with everything that we needed. The gentleman was nice enough to bring us extra pots since he seen us cooking and barbecuing. The grill on the site was not good it was too small for the amount of food we had but we worked it out lol. My only thing I would want is a screen for the patio doors downstairs bcuz it was a beautiful day so we wanted the doors open but mosquitoes and ants kept coming in. Overall I highly recommend this villa

A Great property & host.
Our annual High School girl friend weekend was awesome! We loved hanging out together in the villa & visiting downtown Utica. This was our 7th annual trip together & this place was perfect! Our host was so attentive & accommodating. Highly recommend this place for families & friends to get together.

Perfect for our Girls' Getaway!
Denny's villa at Grand Bear Resort was exactly what we needed for our group of 7! Plenty of space in the kitchen, family room & bedrooms. All kitchen accessories, hand & dish soap, bed linens and towels were provided. Beds were super comfortable! We're already planning to return & would highly recommend!

Great for young adults
I booked this villa for friends to gather and to go hiking with. I loved how everything was furnished and my contact with Denny for any questions were quick. I am definitely planning on staying here again in the future. So close to the hiking trails!

Starved Rock Fun!
My husband and I enjoyed a very comfortable stay at Denny’s place. Lots of room with a large fully stocked kitchen and very comfortable bed/pillows. We enjoyed several walks in Starved Rock State Park across the Street! Fantastic Labor Day Weekend!

Not what it appears
Internet didn’t work the whole time, only could get 1 tv to work, rental manager stopped responding to our issues like he just didn’t give a shit. Dirty vents, basically lipstick on a pig, coffee pot didn’t work (took over an hour to brew 1/2 a pot). Not worth the money.

Bethany we did respond 3 times within the first 2 hours. Also sent you information from the Comcast website that they were having issues in Lasalle county. I suggested you attempt to try and reboot the system and your exact reply was "Thanks we will try that". Instead you chose to be impatient and disconnected all 3 TV's and their cable boxes and moved the TVS around including bringing one from the upstairs and leaving another on the floor. You also damaged the fireplace mantle by dragging the heavy TV across the wood creating Multiple gouge marks. In 8 years of being on VRBO I have never experienced such a blatent disregard for personal property. As a result of your actions I have been forced to suspend my villa from Listing until I can get a technician to come out and reconnect all the boxes. You had cable issues because you were impatient. Comcast had fixed the technical issues Your review does not only have foul language but is simply not accurate. Lastly we do care about our guests and this is reflected in the many FIVE STAR reviews that we have received. We replaced the coffee maker and cleaned return vent as you suggested.

The condo was clean, spacious, and had a centralized location to everything there was to offer in the area. The owner was always prompt with communication. Everything in the rental was comfortable and in good working order. We will return for another stay hopefully in the near future!

Awesome location
We loved our stay. Place was clean, spacious and very close to starved rock and Matthiessen state Park. We were able to cook and prepare food for 2 families after hiking for 8 miles. Best of all, we have the place to ourselves! Place was well equipped and we were happy we have chosen this place.

Great townhouse in beautiful Starved Rock location.
Owner was absolutely amazing to work with. Property exceeded expectations, fully stocked kitchen, ample bedding, plenty of room to stretch out and relax for long weekend. Starved Rock has spectacular views, hiking, and local restaurants. Come visit, walk the paths, have lunch along the river and watch the soaring eagles.

Maybe formal lodging is worth your money
My hope was to give our family a little break from the monotony of Covid remote school and work by heading to beautiful Starved Rock in a spacious condo with so many nice comforts including the advertised jacuzzi. Yet, we were quickly disappointed to find out upon a few hours of arrivale that the jacuzzi was not functioning. This was a huge disappointment given that as long time midwesterners we weren't not scared off by snow or cold temperatures, but were looking forward to the stress relief and relaxation of a hot tub. The owner was so nonchalant about it not working--when I texted him he didn't sound surprised, concerned or even offer to fix it or send someone to fix it. It was not until the next day when I asked him what he would/could do about it that he said he would send somene over and also provide a small discount. We never heard from him again. Starved Rock was lovely under all the snow and we made the best of it all, but now I've learned to ask owners if their published amenities actually work. It makes me wonder if it's worth spending a bit more money and going to formal lodging where things get fixed or you're offered a different room with functioning amenities!

Thank you for your review and Unfortunately Mechanical failures happen. We did attempt to find someone to come and look at the tub but It was a Saturday night at 7pm during a snowstorm and It was very difficult to find a someone to come out and fix a bathtub with Jacuzzi jets. You were refunded some credit and Very sorry for the unavoidable inconvenience. Hope you enjoyed your stay

We totally enjoyed our stay here. Very comfortable and clean unit. The fireplace and jacuzzi tub were nice additions. Close to Starved Rock and other points of interest. Denny was very prompt and helpful answering any questions.

AWESOME SETTING
Location is very close to Starved Rock Park so no long drive after hiking the trails. Home has very open floor plan and in great condition. Comfortable beds, jacuzzi tub in master bedroom was wonderful for easing sore legs after long days in the park. We reported a burned out light bulb and the owner had it replaced within 24 hours. Hope to stay in the future.

The quality of the water in Uitica is not the best and is a constant problem that causes the rust stains as a result of excessive iron in the water causing the rust stains. Wonderful Getaway
The property manager was kind and went above and beyond his role in helping us with our trip. Always a call away. The villa was perfect for our extended family and the kids loved the big table for game playing and the spacious upstairs. Definitely will rent from the property manager again!

Starved Rock Stay
Property was pretty clean. Wish he had some outside chairs so we could have sat outside. Kitchen is well equipped except the large utensils were really bad, no corkscrew, ice tray ( No ice maker) and no kitchen baggies, foil, saran wrap, napkins, or paper towels. Owner should have these items provided-really cheap. All other air bnb's I have stayed in have provided these essentials.
