Awesome vacation

We all had such a wonderful time. The sunsets were spectacular and we loved the tide pools. The iguanas were fun to watch as were the monkeys. We would definitely stay here again. Very peaceful…

Wow! The Villa is beyond our expectations! The photos are lovely but the reality is magnificent! Truly paradise. Petra made planning our adventures a breeze! Every suggestion was amazing! Our entire family from age 2 to 65 loved every minute about this rare jewel in lovely Costa Rica! Highly recommend!

Terrific

We had a wonderful, relaxing family holiday. The property was beautifully kept, clean and organized. The owner and his staff are amazing and extremely helpful and kind. They did everything they could to make our stay comfortable and fun. We could contact them anytime and they helped is immediately. The location of the villa is private and secluded and has the most incredible ocean view. We will never forget this special holiday!

Amazing place!

We were a group of 8 (4 couples) who absolutely loved our stay. The villa was incredible with a beautiful view. It felt very secluded, quiet, and private with an amazing beach. Petra, the hills concierge, was so responsive and helped us plan the entire trip. She helped me book private chefs (highly recommended!), a catamaran trip, in villa massages, fishing trip, and surfing lessons. I cannot wait to return some day! We have zero complaints. Our stay was incredible.

Everything was just perfect!

Absolutely beautiful property! From the time you arrive to the end of your stay you just simply can’t get enough of the view, it is undeniably beautiful. Petra our concierge told us when we arrived that it is a piece of paradise and it really is! Loved everything about our stay from start to end. Everything that you need is arranged from car rental to excursions booked. What a wonderful and professional group. Loved it all, will definitely return. “Pure Vida”

Couldn’t ask for better!

Our family trip to Costa Rica was the first of many. This county is full of adventure and smiles. Petra, the on site concierge assisted us before and during the trip with every need we had. Her activities recommendations and team were impeccable. We had an 18 month old with us and she made sure he had everything needed for his first trip abroad. Costa Rica… you were a dream full of adventure.

Beautiful beach house

The first thing you notice is the breath taking view once entering. It was out of a magazine. The kitchen is relatively well stocked with appliances and dishware and all rooms had working AC. The pool was a perfect temperature to relax and there is so much lounge space for a bonfire and playing frisbee, etc. We also enjoyed the walks on the beach. While the beach right in front is not easy to enter, a short 5-10 min walk north or south will allow you to enter and swim in the ocean. The sunsets were gorgeous and Petra is a rockstar!! She was extremely helpful arranging dinners, massages and our catamaran. We can't thank her enough.

Beautiful retreat!

Four couples traveled to Playa Junquillal to stay at the villa for a 50th birthday celebration and we could not have been happier with our accommodations and hosts! The setting is just beautiful, the expansive lawn out to the edge of a cliff over looking the beach and ocean was breathtaking (there are steps down to the beach at the edge of the lawn). The bedrooms are well decorated and very clean. Besides the bedrooms the rest of the home is really outdoors, including the bathrooms but there were no issues because the setting is so lovely and outside is where you want to be. Amazingly we had almost no issues with bugs at all. We had some funny interactions with other animals but the hosts are there or close by to help with everything and honestly if you go to Costa Rica part of the adventure is seeing the animals! Everything was so easy because our hosts took care of whatever we asked. The house was fully stocked when we got there and they made arrangements for kayaking, zip lining, massages, yoga and a car. Luca and his team were on top of everything. We had a great yoga experience with Anastasia and delicious meals made by Laura and Sebastian. Sebastian’s team was particularly impressive and it felt like we were in a 5 star restaurant. It rained for a lot of our trip which could have been a downer but the beautiful setting and being pampered by our hosts meant that the rain was almost a non-factor. We’ve already talked about going back.

Beautiful time!

The villa and environs were beautiful. Play Junqillal was so quiet, you could look the length of the beach and rarely see people. Playa Blanca had a few costa rican beach goers during the weekend. Petra the concierge was so attentive and helpful before and during our stay. She's just across the street. Most of the bedrooms are detatched from one another making them very private there were two at least that were adjoining with a door which was great for our family with early grade school aged kids. One complaint from some was that the bathrooms attached to each bedroom were not completely enclosed, so had an outside feel. I thought it was beautiful. For others it was the only complaint about the place.

Beautiful Location and Great Service

If there is a more beautiful place and coastline in Costa Rica, we did not see it! The concierge - Petra - was awesome! We were in communication months before our visit and almost daily while we were there. Anything we asked, she provided. We used Chef Laura for a few meals and her food preparation and presentation was outstanding. Grounds well-kept and maintained including daily maid services. By far, the most awesome place we have ever stayed.

The absolutely beautiful setting was the best! We spent all of our time on the beach below the property or in the pool. The welcome dinner by Chef Gerritt was amazing. This was truly the best vacation that our family has had! And Petra, the property manager, was very responsive.

Gorgeous Property and Wonderful Experience!

Wow- this was such an incredible experience! Breathtaking views and direct access to beach was incredible. The grounds are impeccable, everything was in working order, and the pictures do not do this property justice! Petra was an incredible asset; so responsive and kind for everything that we wanted or needed. We did not want to leave! So thankful for the time we did have at this oasis. 5/5 would absolutely recommend :)

Perfect in every way:)

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Diosa Del Mar. the property is just breathtaking. We arrived right when the sun was setting and it just set the tone for the rest of our stay. Petra goes above and beyond. Anything you need, she is there. We have a new friend for life. Chef Laura was incredible. The house is perfect for multiple families. There are individual casitas surrounding the pool and beautiful yard. Great for kids. Lots to keep them busy; between the pool, huge yard to explore and play and of course, easy access to the beach. We will come back again and again. Thank you so much for making our trip so magical.

This is the place... don’t look any further. Unbelievable property and views

My family of 7 stayed at Villa Diosa Del Mar for a week and it is by far the best vacation we have ever had as a family. Petra was able to organize everything prior to our arrival so our vacation started immediately upon arrival. The Villa has one of the prettiest views imaginable. High up with a view of the pacific. Sitting on the porch or in one of the hammocks, you can enjoy the ocean breeze and take in the gardens and palm trees. Every room feels like it can be the best room. The beds are very comfortable. When we arrived, Petra had already done most of our grocery shopping for the week as well as arranged a private chef team - Garrett and Marcella, who made us a wonderful Gourmet dinner using fresh local ingredients as well as breakfast the next morning. (Highly recommend the welcome package). She also had arranged a few excursions for our family. We did a 1/2 day fishing trip and caught enough fresh fish for the week. When we got back to shore, the restaurant close by prepared some of the fish for dinner with some other local sides. Another day we chartered a private boat and went snorkeling and were able to swim with a sea turtle! We spent a few days just hanging around the beach at the Villa and another few days a few minute drive up the beach at Lola’s restaurant where you can rent surfboard, chairs and umbrellas as well as take surfing lessons. Lola’s is a great option for lunch on the beach. It has a great atmosphere. I would also recommend having Petra organize a Shuttle from the Liberia airport as well as a rental car during your stay. It is all there waiting for you when you get there. A+++ #bestvacationever

A week in paradise!

This was our second trip to Costa Rica. We decided to check out a different part of the country this time. Eight adults (family). Everyone had a perfect, wonderful time. The house is beautiful and extremely comfortable. I can’t say enough about Petra and the rest of the staff. They are just excellent. If you choose to stay in this home for your vacation, you will not be disappointed in any way. Just happy, every time you wake up and every minute of the day and evening. Don’t miss out on the privilege of having Sibyl prepare a meal for you. We had her prepare dinner on our last night. Delicious and beautiful display. We take a nice vacation together each year (our family) and have visited many lovely places. This is the first time in all of my vacations that we loved it so much, we want to return to this area, the wonderful people and this beautiful home!

A perfect, relaxing, beautiful place you won't want to leave!

If you are looking for jaw-dropping beauty in your own private paradise, this is the place. From the moment the concierge Petra opened the front door, with a knowing grin at what our reaction would be upon seeing the spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean, our group of 7 was swept into a magical week that was over too soon. This villa has it all: unsurpassed ocean views from almost every spot, private stairs leading to your own ocean and beach access, infinity-edge pool, nicely-equipped kitchen, quiet, solitude, plenty of space for everyone. Each of us immediately felt a calm and relaxation missing from our busy lives in the U.S., which lasted all week, thanks to the care taken by Petra and the staff of housekeepers and gardener. Here is a sample of how Petra made this visit perfect: she arranged airport transfers, rental car and grocery delivery, welcome dinner, yoga, massages, and excursions before we arrived; she made a special trip to let us know that a baby turtle release was about to happen; she told us when the German baker and fish monger were going to be on the street, so we had fresh fish and German pastries for Christmas. She was always just a text away, if there was anything we needed. There were a few questions that I had from the property photos and description: There are about 40 steps from the edge of the property that lead to a black lava beach, where you can explore tide pools. To the left, it's about a 10 minute walk to a sandy beach that has fun waves and is great for swimming. To the right, it's a 5 minute walk to another sandy beach that is better for soaking and snorkeling. The entire area is secluded--there are fisherman, and very few other people. The bedrooms are in three separate pavilions, each with its own outdoor access. The shower in each bedroom is indoor/outdoor, which adds to the magic. The property is a short drive from the little town, and about a 45-minute drive from Tamarindo, which is a busy tourist hub, with grocery stores, water sports, and night life (which we avoided). If you want flexibility, rent a car, but you can get by without one because Petra can arrange transportation to pretty much everywhere. It's lovely to have one of the cooks make dinner, but it's also fun to use the grill or the kitchen to make use of local, fresh ingredients. The villa is more beautiful and spacious than in the photos. I can't say enough, and we can't wait to return. Joan, Craig, Kate, Eric, Anna, Sarah, Matt
