Francois and Wyn are superior hosts. They were there to greet me when I arrived and went out of their way to accommodate me. They even gave me a ride to the main highway so I could catch the bus back to Victoria without hauling a giant suitcase.
The highlight of the trip was breakfast. WOW! Waffles, oats with flaxseed, fresh fruit, homemade rhubarb jam and fresh baked bread... This was beyond extravagant! And my second morning, when I had to be out the door very early, Wyn arranged for me to have oats and coffee to reheat. This was not my typical bed and breakfast experience!
The area is quiet and neighborhoody. You can walk to the bike path and a town center with grocery and a few shops. There's a local bus that goes nearby. The regional bus to Victoria is about 2km away, and I found it easiest to just walk there (nice walk, mainly on the bike path). I was there racing a triathlon at Wolf Lake, and found it extremely convenient for that. Of course, outside the city a car would be convenient - just not absolutely necessary.
The room was a large one-bedroom suite. It was clean and well stocked in the kitchen. The bed was adequate - not a luxury pillow top, but comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. There's a full-size refrigerator, stove, oven, counter space for cooking, a round dining table and a couch. Plenty of space for a longer stay.
I will stay again.
