“Beautiful spot, but difficult to access without a rental car. We were travelling on foot/train/bus and we had to rely solely on the 2 or 3 taxis in the township. The walk was ok downhill, but very arduous going back (We're in our 70's). We chose Varenna as it much more affordable than Ballagio, and the views are simply breathtaking. We loved the location, in the middle of the old town, close to shops and restaurants, with meandering stairs/streets and lovely seafront. Especially loved the quiet mornings and evenings, and if streets were sometimes busy with tourists during the day, that was fine, we used that time to jump on a ferry to explore other villages for a few hours. “Die Lage der Unterkunft ist wirklich hervorragend. Toller Ausblick vom Balkon, kostenlose Parkmöglichkeiten an der Straße. Im Vorfeld hat man viele Informationen erhalten, sodass man alles schnell gefunden hat. Die Unterkunft selbst ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, relativ rustikal eingerichtet, das Sofa ist leider komplett durchgesessen. Es ist viel Geschirr und Besteck vorhanden. Wir hatten einige Probleme mit den Steckdosen, der Stecker der Waschmaschine passt nicht in die Steckdose....
