Il fiume Watauga inizia il suo viaggio di 60 miglia sulle pendici settentrionali del Grandfather Mountain e scorre generalmente a nord e ad ovest nel lago Watauga, sul confine tra la Carolina del Nord e il Tennessee. La parola "Watauga" deriva dalla parola Cherokee "Watagi" che significa "acque bellissime" o "acque sussurrate". Questa dinamica zona rivierasca è in realtà un corridoio migratorio per molte varietà di pesci, uccelli e animali e svolge un ruolo significativo nel preservare la biodiversità.

Durante il bel tempo puoi esplorare il fiume o tentare la fortuna di catturare una varietà di trote come ruscello, marrone o arcobaleno. Questa sezione del fiume Watauga è ora rifornita privatamente ed è eccezionale per la pesca a mosca! TUTTA la pesca è un'esca artificiale, solo cattura e rilascio (niente esche vive o profumate o mais per favore). I servizi di guida di pesca a mosca sono disponibili su richiesta. Quando piove, il fiume si alza e i kayakisti escono per sparare alle rapide.

A River Runs Through It è situato su 2. 75 acri con il fiume Watauga che attraversa il centro della proprietà. La cabina era costruita con la cicuta tagliata a mano dello stato di Washington e pannelli di pino della contea di Watauga. L'accesso alla proprietà è una strada sterrata fiancheggiata da alberi che un tempo era una parte del fondo ferroviario della Western North Carolina - East Tennessee Railroad.

Un vialetto circolare si snoda attorno a Rhododendron e vi accoglie a A River Runs Through It. Sul ponte d'ingresso coperto troverete un sacco di sedie a dondolo e una pila limitata di legna da ardere.

Questa cabina offre un'atmosfera accogliente con tronchi e travi di hemlock intagliati a mano, mobili in pelle, pavimenti in rovere, tappeti e un camino in pietra con legna fornita. Opere d'arte originali e vasellame con illuminazione della pista con dimmer accentano il livello principale. Un sistema audio / TV / DVD / CD surround con film su canale premium di Charter On Demand e internet wireless ad alta velocità offrono intrattenimento. La cucina dispone di elettrodomestici in acciaio inossidabile e ripiani in granito. Una camera da letto con un letto king size, TV a schermo piatto e un bagno completo con un lavabo doppio in granito doppio lavabo e vasca idromassaggio completano questo piano all'interno.

Al piano superiore troverete una grande camera da letto arredata con mobili antichi, trapunte e TV a schermo piatto, insieme ad un altro bagno completo, e la sala giochi di air hockey con un materasso gonfiabile queen size nascosto nell'armadio.

Passo dalla cucina sul nuovo ponte e utilizzare la griglia, tavolo e sedie per cenare sul fiume; o godetevi la spa di sei persone Hot Springs con un massaggio e una fontana. Le scale portano dal ponte al fiume.

A River Runs Through It è convenientemente situato vicino a un'arteria principale che collega le piste da sci della contea di Avery con gli eccezionali negozi di antiquariato di Foscoe con la ricca storia della Valle Crucis con i grandi ristoranti e divertimenti di Boone e Blowing Rock. Nelle vicinanze troverete numerosi servizi di guida di pesca e di pesca.

We had a wonderful time at this property. My husband fly fished for 3 days and was so delighted to catch mostly large/thick fish. The women found nice shopping and plenty of activities to keep us busy - all fairly close. Kitchen had everything we needed. Nice coffee pot and toaster for bagels. Beautiful view off front and back porches. Fire pit and hot tub were both used and enjoyed. TV has nice speakers for surround sound. The cleanliness of the property was a little disappointing. Basic center of place was clean. Dishes clean, sheets clean and fixtures in restrooms were clean. However, there was dust coating the top of the curtains; thick spider webs in high places; much dust on blinds in downstairs bathroom and the baseboard also had a thick layer of dust on it. There were wet leaves piled up next to unit and around hot tub on patio that were left for us to clean off. We were left a 2 ft push broom that weighed a ton and was hard to push. I reached out to see if a regular broom was available. Office responded to text twice but never heard back from the “team” that was going to help with this. This is a wonderful property and I would stay again. The lack of general maintenance of the property is beginning to show on the property. I hope the owner does a site check before repairs become costly.

We throughly enjoyed our time in this cabin. The location was easy to get to and 4x4 was not needed on our trip. There are plenty of dishes and kitchen gadgets to cook and prep meals. Location is close to Boone, Banner Elk, West Jefferson, Blowing Rock and ski area at Sugar and Beech.

The cabin was great , it was very clean. The back deck is the selling part of this location . The view is amazing and calming. I do have a few complaints. It is extremely hard getting in and out of the rock dirt road.. I was also shocked when you first pull in a junkyard looking area is the first thing you see when you turn onto the road. I must say I was a little scared at first about what I had spent my money on. I also felt like all you could smell was marijuana coming into the road , and in the front area of the cabin. However the smell was not in the back area . Not sure what kind of wildlife that would be. Over all our stay was great , and we were happy with the cabin .

We love this cabin. Absolutely enjoyed our stay again this year. We were able to disconnect and relax while listening to the river flowing over the rocks. We'll be back next year.

The property was nice and the river was beautiful. The back porch cover wasn’t on at the time we were there and that would have been a nice adder. The hot tub lid is veeerrrryyyy heavy and hard to manage. We did have an issue with some bugs in the upstairs bedroom but the property manager was very responsive when notified.

Wonderful stay! The Watauga River was roaring and quite beautiful! It made for a very peaceful experience. I spent a lot of time on the back porch watching and listening to the roaring river! Would definitely stay again. Wish i had brought my fly rod. It was very convenient to Boone. The only surprise was the added $200.00/night fee for renting during “ski season”. It wasn’t until the final step of reserving the house that that extra fee was apparent to me.

The cabin itself was spotless and comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked with many more items than I expected! The beds were very comfortable and slept well. The hot tub was very clean and we enjoyed it very much! The cons are that the road leading to the cabin is gravel, narrow, and one car width, with overgrown bushes that scratched my truck and goes past some sketchy-looking homes. The other side of the river is a major road and produces a lot of road noise, I was expecting it to be quiet. I really wanted a fire but there was no wood available, it was raining when we arrived and wood at the grocery store was 12 dollars for a small bundle.

I’ve provided the owner some recommendations on improving the experience, from better identifying the property as you drive in, to some functional and cleaning aspects of this house. I heard back right away and assume they are taking our advice to heart. The property is on a gorgeous river, the hot tub is relaxing and the master bed is very comfortable.

We really enjoyed this cabin and direct access to the gorgeous Wautagua River! Well stocked and clean as well as suitably located between Boone and Blowing Rock. Only drawback would be the highway noise, more so during the week vs weekend. Thanks for a good stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed this cabin. Having the River right outside the back door (actually down a few steps) was amazing. Our kids could have stayed in there all day. It was so appealing that they were in the River WHILE IT WAS SNOWING! The only thing worth mentioning is, the cabin has a wood burning fireplace. We loved it. But if you don’t like that wood burning smell, and it is not a time of year where you can open the windows, you might want to consider that. We had a great time and we plan to return!
