Perfect Location & Comfortable Stay

We had a really pleasant stay here. The space was clean, comfortable, and exactly what we needed. The bed was great, the shower had good water pressure, and the location couldn’t have been more perfect for our trip. Beth, the owner, was absolutely wonderful — she made sure everything was perfect and was truly a joy to deal with. My father and I really enjoyed our time and would happily stay again.

Family trip to visit family

Traveled with my two daughters (teens) to visit my mom. The house was perfect for hanging around and visiting with family. Well stocked and good communication from the host.

Great Value at Spacious Wappapello Home

The property was a great value for the price. It was convenient to lake access. The road to the house was a little tight with a boat trailer. Neighbors were "interesting".

Diamond in the rough

Beth, the property owner was fantastic checking in with us before arrival. The home was very clean and had all the needed amenities. We had plenty of room, comfortable beds and sheets, working appliances, and comfortable furniture. The neighborhood is older with most properties far less nice. Most likely weekend lake homes. This home stands out in a positive way from the others. Nice parking, well lit, and a security system which we did not use. As listed, there are stairs to get to all bedrooms. We would certainly stay there again for our next visit!

Clean and Comfy!

Lots of space for 7 to spread out. Accommodations were perfect for all of us and the price was even better! Everyone had their own bed which made the kids happy (no air mattresses!). Super clean and the host was incredibly kind! She even text me after our departure to thank us for leaving the place so nice. Never had that before! Close to lake and river spots and also restaurants and shopping if needed.

Worked for our 2 night stay

Worked for what we needed, we didn't expect luxury but the beds were so uncomfortable. There is a leak coming from the upstairs bathroom into a downstairs bedroom closet and there's mold. We let the owner know, but there is a drip pan in the closet so I think it was known. There is an electric panel that had completely exposed wires behind a door that said "do not open" Naturally we opened it and realized how much of a risk it was for the kids so i'm glad we opened it and saw it so we could warn them not to, because they would have out of curiosity. Beth was great, she called me the night before with information and directions. She called me when the house was clean and we could arrive. Sweet lady. Kids enjoyed the board games and fire pit for smores. Quiet neighborhood. We went right down the road both days to People's Beach - so it's super close.

A hidden gem in an already hidden gem area of Missouri!

My wife, three boys, and I spent Memorial Day weekend in the Lake Wappapello region. We're from St. Louis but have actually never been to this area! We were greatly impressed! Beth, the owner, takes extremely good care of the place! There are four bedrooms, two on the main level, two on the upper level, and two bathrooms. The large kitchen is fully stocked with most common kitchen appliances and pretty much every utensil you can imagine. The living room is very roomy with a nice TV and there's also a firepit out back. The area isn't really close to the lake or any conveniences except for a Dollar General down Highway D about half a mile. It's about a 15 minute drive to a "main area" with a gas station, a bar, a restaurant, and an ice cream shop. Chaonia Resort, which offers boat rentals, is about a 30 minute drive away. Even though it's tucked away surrounded by mobile homes and gravel roads, the area is overall very quiet and very secluded. We really enjoyed our stay! Beth is an awesome host and we will definitely consider staying at this lake house again when we come back to the area!

Was beautiful house. Quiet and convenient near stores, swimming and fishing. Fully stocked

Had plenty of everything we needed. House was in quiet area but near stores and lake. We came prepared for some things but we could have just brought food and everything else was supplied! Definitely suggest staying here and will be returning again. Host was wonderful. Responded immediately and very nice as well as informative.

Getaway weekend

My family and I stayed at this property for a little weekend getaway. It was nestled back in the woods approximately 3 miles from the waterfront. The house itself is kept clean and was very appealing. It was well stocked with all the basic necessities that we would need. We did have issues getting into the property due to not receiving check in instructions; however, the property owner drove all the way to us to ensure that we had gotten in. The house itself is old and does have some flaws, including a loose shower door that came undone while one of our family members was showering. However, overall it was a great stay and I would stay here again!

Wappapello Vacation

8 members of our family were on this trip. The house was great and well stocked. I have never stayed where they furnish the toilet paper and paper towels before! The owner was great and checked on us. The house had plenty of room and a great yard for the kids. Would love to stay here again!

Comfort and Quiet

There was a family memorial service in Poplar Bluff and we were looking for a place that was close to town but far enough away to be away from it. The size fit us well and the location was perfect. This location is in a very quiet neighborhood! We enjoyed our stay and look forward to using this home again when we visit the area again. There is a lot to explore in this area!
