Conversione del granaio vicino a Wedmore (nuova inserzione per il 2018) con piscina interna riscaldata

La Walls Farm si trova vicino al villaggio di Wedmore. Si trova a poche miglia a sud delle Mendip Hills, a nord dei Somerset Levels, a est del Canale di Bristol e ad ovest della storica città di Wells.

La Walls Farm è circondata da un terreno di circa sei ettari. Orti formali, un orto produttivo, frutteti e un grande stagno attraggono una vasta gamma di animali selvatici. Le rondini nidificano nel garage, i picchi verdi sono spesso sul prato, abbiamo la nostra colonia di peste d'oro tra i pini - e spesso un Civetta piuttosto audace si siede e grida sul pergolato del giardino.
La 'Duck House' è la nostra straordinaria conversione di stalla più grande, elegantemente arredata ovunque - è incredibile pensare che eravamo soliti tenere le anatre qui! Completato ad aprile 2018, offre 2 camere da letto e 2 bagni dotati di grandi docce a multigetto. Il vero "fattore wow" del cottage è la grande cucina / sala da pranzo / salotto open space con enormi porte scorrevoli in vetro che si affacciano sul giardino. Il riscaldamento a pavimento in tutto il piano terra e un favoloso bruciatore di ceppi renderanno le serate accoglienti nei mesi più freddi. Situato nel parco della nostra fattoria classificata Grade 2, il fienile offre tutti i comfort, incluso il wi-fi, t. v. e una libreria ben fornita e interessante.
La nostra piscina interna riscaldata è disponibile previo accordo (solo per adattarsi all'uso dei proprietari), la piscina è adiacente alla casa dei proprietari.

Beautiful place, peaceful and great pool!

We're a family of four and we were looking for a relaxing place to get away from it all. The cottage was perfect! Set in a beautiful, quiet location with lots of room for kicking balls and playing games and the great addition of a fabulous warm indoor pool. The cottage has two lovely clean bedrooms and two bathrooms, a well equipped kitchen and seating area, they have everything covered. To top it all off you have Kay and Graeme, wonderful friendly hosts who made our stay as comfortable as they could, and not forgetting Lily the dog who popped by every day to say hello. Thoroughly recommend this fabulous place for relaxing and exploring wonderful Somerset.

Quietest place we've ever stayed with great indoor pool!

The location is superb, lovely place with no road noise, no noise at all. The large indoor pool was really great and we made sure we used it twice daily as we missed swimming since the pandemic started. You only share the pool with the owners family and another holiday cottage and due to pandemic we negotiated with our neighbours times when each household could have it to themselves due to Covid precautions. The kitchen had all you need to cook for yourself, though it seemed that due to previous visitors moving items between properties we were short of some things like baking trays, spatulas etc but this was resolved quickly by the owners. As we cooked all our meals here we'd have welcomed a bit more crockery and cutlery so that we only had to put the dishwasher on when full but outside of a pandemic eating out might have been more on the cards for us. There wasn't a welcome pack - though some eggs from their own chooks which was lovely. Possibly the lack of a welcome pack was due to the pandemic - we didn't ask. The owners gave us a loaf of bread from their freezer when they realised we didn't have any. However, the village shops in Wedmore are fantastic and the "Village Shop" is open until about 8pm and sells anything you could possibly want so it turns out we could have gone there. The only thing we would say is that the huge windows of the large living / dining / kitchen area have no blinds so when the owners are using their office or other outbuildings there they can see straight into your living space. So you will need a dressing gown or some sort of cover up to go between the downstairs bedroom and the bathroom (the door of the bedroom faces the outbuildings through the sliding doors / window wall). So if you usually wander about naked or just in your undies - you might want to think again here ;) (However having the large sliding doors was a boon as we were with friends who were not from our household so we could keep them open to increase the fresh air as part of our covid precautions.) We very much enjoyed our morning's birdwatching with Graeme - so much so we took our friends to the same sites the next day to show them. So do book a birdwatching session with Graeme. He took us away from the Somerset Levels - they are right on your doorstep (a couple of miles) and you can get their yourselves so it was great to go somewhere else. We would very definitely stay there again and have recommended it to several friends already!

Beautiful peaceful cottage of dreams.

We loved our stay in this cottage. It was clean, very comfortable, tastefully decorated and equipped for all our needs. The location is peaceful and the hosts are wonderfully friendly. The use of their pool made the stay perfect for our small children. A wonderful base for exploring a great area. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your cottage we would highly recommend a stay here.

Fantastic property

We hugely enjoyed staying here and Kay and Graeme were very welcoming. The pool is an added bonus and lots of protections have been put in place for Covid. Great location to be able to drive to various attractions.

“Welcome to the Duck House”

Lovely, modern property within peaceful and beautiful surroundings. Great pool facilities which we all thoroughly enjoyed. The only comment we would make , is that it would be nice to have a welcome pack ( as we’ve had at other rental properties) , especially after a long and late journey.

Wat een prachtige woning in een zeer mooie omgeving

Het huis is een plaatje. Alles is schoon en zeer comfortabel. Het zwembad is erg groot en voor 2 huisjes. De cotswolds is een leuke omgeving van nauwe straatjes en leuke plaatjes. Mooie wandelingen en bezichtigingen. Bij het huis is een enorme tuin en je hebt veel privacy.

we booked this place as a weekend away for my dad's 50th, we wanted somewhere, where we could escape reality! this property was perfect for this, its in a quiet location with plenty of places to visit so there was always something to do. This property exceeded all expectations and we couldn't of been any happier with it! we honestly couldn't of wished for more, and would definitely recommend that everyone visits! The owners were very welcoming and couldn't of done more for us! thank you so much for our stay x

Perfect holiday

The accommodation for two couples is excellent. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The indoor heated pool was wonderful and we were able to enjoy use of the pool daily. The grounds are very large and fun to stroll around. The area is very quiet during the daytime and at night. Easy access to local towns and villages with car. Easy assess to the City of Wells - definately worth a visit.

The house was well designed and comfortable.

Kay welcomed us warmly on our arrival. We enjoyed our short break and found the Duck House well-appointed and tranquil. We were grateful for the tea, coffee and fresh eggs. The swimming pool was a lovely bonus!

Fabulous property and wonderful hosts in a beautiful location

Modern, stylish accommodation & very friendly owners!

We stayed here in October 2018. This is a very modern, clean and stylish farm building conversion in a very quiet, private setting. The owners, Kay and Graeme are the perfect hosts - very friendly and welcoming. The highlight is the large indoor swimming pool which we were able to use every day. It was heated, nice and warm and our children loved it. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this property to anyone visiting Somerset. Hopefully we'll return one day!

Quality and fun in this beautiful cottage
