Welcome to A Blue Bear's Lodge, a stunning 3-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom cabin offering breathtaking mountain views, luxurious furnishings, and all the comforts of home. Located at an elevation of 4,200 feet, this charming retreat provides cool summer days and all-paved access in the Big Tree community, just 10-15 minutes from downtown West Jefferson.

Enter the cabin with just four steps up to the deck, where you’ll immediately feel at home with the open floor plan and inviting atmosphere.

Dining Area – The dining table seats six guests and offers stunning mountain views while you enjoy your meals.
Fully Equipped Kitchen – A modern, well-stocked kitchen with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, gas range, microwave, slow cooker, Keurig, and regular drip coffee maker—the best of both coffee worlds!
Master Suite – King-size bed with an En Suite full bathroom featuring a beautifully tiled, glass-enclosed shower. Private access to the covered deck and a flat-screen Roku TV.
Half Bathroom – Conveniently located off the hallway.
Upper Covered Deck – Includes plenty of seating, a dining table, and rocking chairs to relax and soak in the breathtaking views.

The upper level features a cozy loft area with a desk and chair, ideal for those who may need to work remotely.

Bedroom 1 – King-size bed with a flat-screen Roku TV.

Full Bathroom – Shared between both bedrooms, featuring a tub/shower combo.

Winter Travel Advisory – Due to the 4,200’ elevation, roads can become slick during snow and ice. 4x4 vehicles and tire chains are recommended in winter conditions.

Important Information

“A Blue Bear's Lodge” is located in a private community where guests are asked to be respectful of neighbors. Please keep noise levels down, especially outdoors, as sound carries in the mountains. There is a countywide noise ordinance after 10:00 PM.

As you plan your trip to the mountains, please remember we do get rain, snow, and some foggy days with occasional inconveniences which are out of our control. Winter weather in the Blue Ridge Mountains can occur from November through April. The majority of our homes are accessed by mountain roads, which will be icy in winter weather. For the safety of you and your party, please be prepared to drive in snow and ice. This means 4-wheel drive, good tires, and chains. It is YOUR responsibility to be prepared for hazardous road conditions. There will be NO refunds, allowances, or date changes resulting from your negligence in this matter.
