Tranquil & Private Retreat Beach Cottage!

Fuga splendidamente arredata e recentemente rinnovata in un cottage sulla spiaggia in una posizione appartata con un sacco di privacy, comodamente situata a 3 km dalle splendide spiagge di Westerly e offerta con pass per la stagione estiva inclusi. I bambini e gli animali domestici sono i benvenuti. All'interno ci sono tre camere da letto, un comodo salotto, una grande cucina ben attrezzata con angolo pranzo, una camera di fango, un bagno moderno con vasca e doccia combinate, lavatrice e asciugatrice. All'esterno troverete una doccia esterna, una buca per il fuoco con posti a sedere, una nuova griglia a gas Weber e una confortevole sala da pranzo all'aperto, il tutto situato in un ampio cortile privato con posti auto dedicati separati per un massimo di cinque auto.
Situato su mezzo acro di terra e circondato da alberi, il cottage offre pace e tranquillità in abbondanza. Goditi un facile accesso a tutti i negozi, ristoranti, bar e caffè locali che Westerly ha da offrire, insieme alla nautica, agli sport acquatici e alla vita da spiaggia che è disponibile a portata di mano.
I traghetti per Block Island e Martha's Vineyard sono facilmente raggiungibili, con Newport e Mystic Seaport a soli 30 minuti di auto

Its a very cute cottage. Road noise was not a problem unlike a previous review. We had a really hot weather and sleeping was difficult, no a/c in bedrooms. They each had a small fan.

Its location on Post Road with the sound of cars whizzing by was not at all beachy. No warning was given of steep narrow driveways unmarked with house hidden and I was not provided the location until the day before travel. The laundry is in the basement down a steep open stairway with only a railing on one side. I managed to make it down 3 steps clutching the rail with both hands. Half the basement was covered with thick plastic and there was lots of debris, maybe dirt or crumbling cement. I opted to leave the cellar door closed and locked and to forget the laundry. The owner was polite and helpful although he categorically denied my request to refund our money. The house looked like the photos. It was not a good house for dogs as there was no fenced in areas and right in a high traffic zone. The bathroom is tiny. Mattresses were good. I could go on but enough said.

Great stay!

My daughters (14 and 18 mths) came to visit my son that is stationed in CT with the navy. He came to stay the weekend with us. This house was a short 18 min drive to base. It was close to the beach and many other things. Only took us only 16 mins to get to mystic. The kitchen was great for me to be able to make my boy some home cooked food. We throughly enjoyed our family time here together.

We cannot always know what the expectation might/should be for rentals and everyone has a different take on what they find acceptable. Renting away from home places has been a 20-year practice. Therefore, thoughtful and detailed reviews are always appreciated when shopping. The goal is always to provide a decent overview since rentals represent a large part of a travel budget. That said here are what were seen as the pros and cons of this rental each with a 1 to 10 rating for a final average (88 ÷ 12 = 7.333). Pros Dog friendly even for the bigger 4 paw crowd – of course the expectation is tempered because of this wonderful allowance, thank you Tony and Laura - 10 Host responsiveness - 10 Privacy - 10 Location for beach and shopping - 10 Bed in master, very comfortable and this was a bonus and surprise - 10 Outdoor shower with warm water for dog clean-up when needed - 10 Water pressure decent but for only 1 thing at a time, doable - 9 Cons Musty in general. The upstairs loft was not usable for this guest due to air quality which is where the work from home space was to be used. Instead, work was done from kitchen table. Using closets to store clothes did not seem like a good idea - 4 Maybe not fully set up for month long stays in late fall? Nature makes a mark - 2 Kitchen could use good clean and reset/update - 4 Decorations did not leave much space for guestitems without rearranging some things - 5 Rug and couch (although comfortable)could use replacement - 4

Cute and quiet

The cottage was cute. Location was very close to a lot of activities. The owners are very friendly. We stayed with our dogs, and it was nice to have the yard for them. Big enough to comfortably fit us. Upstairs needs would be good for kids. Pretty small for adults. Cottage provided everything we needed. And close to Walmart for groceries. We would go back.

Family vacation

Size just right for us. Kitchen had all amenities, microwave did not work. Living room was comfortable, enjoyed tv at night. The slow draining tub needs to be addressed and a new shower liner needed for future guests. Would have liked to have dinner on outside table, only three chairs, was told previous guest broke the fourth, asked for a fourth but didn’t bring. Area needed weed whacking, basic clean up. Unfortunately didn’t get to enjoy the outdoor area.

Location,location

First time visiting this part of Rhode Island. Found Tony and Laura's cottage looking for a place that allowed pets. The cottage is rustic, comfortable and cozy. It was clean and well equipped for our stay. The only difficulty was reaching the lock box, as I am short .Tony quickly returned my phone call and all was good. We were lucky to have wonderful, dry weather. Flowers still blooming. It's centrally located so you can easily explore beaches, shops , restaurants and scenic towns. Rte 1 is just down the driveway, so there was some traffic noise in the morning ,if you are sleeping in the bedroom at that end. Otherwise ,it is quiet , private and woodsy. Great getaway ! Enjoyed every day !

October Shore Get Away

Private even though very close to Rte 1. Location was great for bike and auto outings. We could bike to Misquamicut beaches, Watch Hill area, slowly pedal past all the mansions, and access the Watch Hill Light House. Short car drive down to ferry for a day on Block Island with the Bikes. Host available for emergency needs. Cottage well stocked with needful things.

Cute place... great stay!

Adorable little cottage with all the amenities needed for a nice stay. Upstairs bedroom was not optimal for sleeping (too hot & twin convertable beds were not comfortable) but we managed with the two downstairs bedrooms just fine. The living room was cute... could have used another comfortable seat but great television access and we made it work as well. Kitchen was well equipped with all necessities and then some... had paper towels, some spices, some condiments all in a beautiful set up. Had one window AC unit in the living room... fans in the two downstairs bedrooms and it seemed to be adequate for our stay. Having access to a washer & dryer was great. The outdoor area was great... there was an outdoor shower, great grill, nice firepit area with seating, good sized parking and grassy areas with beautiful flowers. There was bug spray available... sticks to roast marshmallows and a wrapped package of firewood as well. The road noise from Rt 1 could not be heard from inside the house as we had the windows closed and AC on.... you could hear it outside but it was easy to tune out and get used to. Our weather didn't cooperate so we spent a good amount of time at the cottage and had a nice stay. Also, the pipe under the kitchen sink separated and caused a leak... the owner was quick to respond and correct the problem right away. Thank you for a lovely stay... we would stay here again for sure!!

Westerly cottage

Well loved property, comfortable beds and kitchen, lovely patio for outdoor dining. The owners have made the most of every inch! It is well done and comfortable and welcoming. The host was very responsive and helpful. We had a great time and hope to return.

Beach time

We wanted a few days at the beautiful beaches of RI and this rental was perfect for us! We were able to bring our dogs and that was a major bonus. The house was very clean and decorated nicely without too much stuff! Beds were very comfortable too!! We got to enjoy the beach for 2 days. There is road noise but the property is up above the road and pretty private which was great!!! Would stay again.

September vacation

The house was very clean and well appointed. The owners made the process easy. Close car ride to beaches. Close to all amenities that you could need from grocery stores to pharmacies as well as coffee shops. Lots to do in the area in addition to the beaches. We have a 4 and 2 year old and the ride to Mystic Aquarium is under 20 miles. Great house and great location.
