We have stayed in various lodges at White Cross Bay over the past ten years. This was the smallest we have experienced but perfectly acceptable for the two of us. The accomodation is well equipped and user friendly. The heating is easily adjustable and the hot water is extemely hot (beware) and plentiful. The TV is large, furniture is comfortable, good ambient lighting is achievable through thoughtfully provided table lamps. These things contribute to a good 'homely' feel. Noticable, when compared with other lodges we have stayed in, was the lack of cobwebs above eye level, hinting at a thorough cleaning regime.
Criticisms - uncomfortable bench at the table. Four chairs would be better. The windows would benefit from blinds rather than just curtains as the lodge is somewhat overlooked. The lodge is situated in a rather dark area which gives it a slightly claustrophobic feel.
If location is not a priority, this lodge is a very good choice for a couple though perhaps a little cramped for a family of four.
