“I've picked this place just for one night with zero expectations, but it turns out it's actually good. It's an old house, yes, but the room is clean and big, with a decent and ample bathroom (with amenities nonetheless!), free breakfast (a rarity these days), and free wifi (another rarity in the uk, it seems). It beats the more expensive alternatives in the area.”

“Personale molto cortese e camera e bagno puliti. La mia esperienza è stata molto piacevole essendo il posto a due passi dal centro di Oxford in una via molto tranquilla. ”

“Ci siam trovati molto bene, sarà il fascino dei luoghi che ci faceva vedere tutto fantastico, ma non possiamo che essere felici della nostra permanenza al Broadlands Guesthouse. Marco il titolare dell'albergo è perfetto nell'accoglienza e anche nella sua colazione all'Inglese che ha preparato per noi tutte le mattine. La colazione era molto abbondante e buona. La nostra camera una camera per famiglia nella depandance era accogliente a due piani e ci siamo trovati molto bene sia per la pulizia...

“Altes Haus mitten im Stadtzentrum mit 3 wunderschön renovierten Zimmern, die nur über enge, steile Treppen zu erreichen sind. Badezimmer ist im Detail etwas schludrig gemacht, aber insgesamt sehr schön. Parking findet sich im nahegelegenen Westgate-Einkaufszentrum, keine 5 Minuten entfernt. Wermutstropfen: WiFi ist unbenutzbar - 50 KB/s reicht nicht mal zum einfachen Surfen. Wer vom Hotelzimmer aus arbeiten muss, hat schlechte Karten, denn das GSM-Netz vor Ort ist auch nicht besser.”

Porta serrata, si entra solo con il “ palm press” e il relativo codice numerico da digitare sullo schermo elettronico sporgente dal portone metallico. Sia la procedura d’entrata che il codice numerico personale non mi sono stati comunicati prima. Mi guardo intorno lungamente, passa mezz’ora ma non arriva nessuno. Sono costretto a chiedere qualcosa del personale dell’hotel ai negozianti nelle vicinanze. Gentilmente una ragazza...

“Julie and Ayman are great hosts. You do feel like you're a guest in their home. We had several fun conversations with them, and a couple of times found myself feeling like I was talking to an extended family member (Ayman and his strong feelings about diesel and electric cars comes to mind, as well as Julie and her careful breakfast service). Overall it was the personal experience we were hoping for as visiting Americans. Only other thoughts are: there is no tennis court on site. That might be...
