Benvenuti a Shipwreck House! Il Glenesslin, con il suo fiero ritratto sospeso sopra il camino, si incagliò sulla costa rocciosa vicino a Nehalem, nell'Oregon. Questa casa ha pezzi di legno di recupero della nave originale, dando il nome alla casa. Con una vista magistrale sulle rocce e sull'oceano oltre, è facile vedere cosa hanno vissuto i marinai di un tempo! La Shipwreck House si trova a sud del meraviglioso villaggio di Yachats e offre una pianta unica per i più avventurosi. Entra attraverso la porta d'ingresso nella zona giorno con finestre attraverso il lato ovest della casa, una grande sala da pranzo, cucina e angolo colazione.

La scala dal soggiorno sale alla prima di due zone notte. Questo spazio al secondo piano ha due camere da letto e un bagno, entrambi con letti matrimoniali. La seconda scala, accanto alla cucina, conduce ad una meravigliosa area salotto con ampie vedute a nord e ovest, comprese le luci di Yachats di notte. Questo salotto comprende due divani letto, un televisore a schermo piatto e si trova accanto a un'altra camera da letto con un letto matrimoniale e un bagno in comune. Di nuovo al piano inferiore, c'è una master suite con vista a sud e un bagno privato. Accanto alla camera da letto principale c'è una camera da letto con due letti singoli.

Relaxation

My husband and I needed a break from planting so we went to the coast for a little relaxation. This was a great spot for exploring tide pools and watching the right waves crash. The house was in a great location close to amenities and very clean. We were able to bring two of our dogs and they had a great time. Thank you.

Pre-Thanksgiving at the Shipwreck House

Two families of 4 - 4 seniors with 4 adult 'children' - so having 5 bedrooms (one with a King split into 2 Twins) perfectly accommodated our group. We received excellent support for a slow-to-warm furnace on the night of the 'Bomb Cyclone' - personal delivery of 3 portable heaters in addition to 2 on-site. After the 1st night, all was well with the furnace (a 4-night stay). We had all the kitchen supplies we could have wanted except for measuring cups - only a 1/2 cup measuring cup. It was an awesome venue, with immediate ocean access, and familiar venues / beaches nearby. Great follow-up on the heating issue (text messages - very reassurring). We'd definitely book again.

Toss Up

This house sits on one of the most spectacular points on a famously beautiful coastline. You couldn’t ask for a more scenic location. The downside was this 90 year old house, while full of charm and character, is very beat up. I think the list of deferred maintenance is longer than the list of features.

Amazing ocean views, but house fell short of expectations.

The view is amazing—ocean, tidepools, seals, gulls. House is spacious; neighborhood, quiet. One house is nearby, but we didn’t see or hear anyone. Check in was easy via tablet that provided access to rental policies and local info. Property manager was easy to communicate with throughout the process. But there are issues with the house not apparent from the listing pics. The front door has no latch, only a deadbolt, and even when shut, you can see between the door and frame in places. Many windows are cloudy, obscuring inside views. Some smoke detectors were missing from their brackets, including in the master suite. Bathtub pictured in master suite is inaccessible, boarded over, with a twin-sized mattress placed on top of it. The master suite bathroom is accessible through two different bedrooms, but only one is lockable. Comfortable-looking chairs pictured in living room now reside in garage, in tatters, replaced by essentially dining chairs. Air hockey table pictured in the garage is gone. There were also housekeeping issues. Coffee mugs smelled terrible and required washing prior to use (made us question dishes generally). Many nonstick pots and pans were gouged and appeared rusted. I can’t comment on the condition of the grill because we didn’t use it. Teapot in a cupboard had standing water, as did the washing machine. There was a drawer full of clothing from a previous guest. Amazing views, somewhat underwhelming accommodations, but overall a positive experience.

Family Vacation

We liked the uniqueness of the home however found several things that were not great. Pretty big ant problem in the kitchen, many doors didn't latch closed, windows we were told to close and lock didn't even have a knob to close them let alone lock them. The soaking tub that was in the listing was gone which was pretty disappointing. Electric outlets are in desperate need of updating. The views and agate hunting out front were amazing though!

Memorial Day weekend stay

Stunning property. Beautiful views and beautiful location. The house is quirky but has everything you could want, lots of comfy beds and AMAZING views. Check in and communication from property manager was great.

Lovely and inviting

We had a little issue when first attempting to use the key code but the property managers answered right away and helped us navigate the issue. The house was huge and very inviting. We had 4 couples that had all our own privacy. Great experience and will definitely be staying again. The view was just as magestic as the photos depicted.

Quirky, rambling beach house

Great, out of the way location with plenty of room -- both private and shared spaces -- and unbeatable views of the constantly crashing surf. A few things should be noted. The kitchen is MINIMALLY stocked -- one pan, no foil, saran wrap, or coffee filters (two coffee pots, though).The front door only stays shut with the deadbolt, which was a little annoying, while the latch from the house to the garage was literally falling out of the door. Two days before our trip, we learned a "maintenance issue" meant we couldn't use one of the bedrooms (the owner/company agreed to a discount to make things right). Other deferred maintenance included burnt out light bulbs and missing or damaged trim around door frames, possibly from forced entry (scuffs and marks around the front door looked like they were made by a crowbar). That aside, the price was reasonable for a February trip (the rental fee SUBSTANTIALLY increases for the summer), and we would gladly rent again.

Shipwreck House

We are amazed by the location, beauty, and the host's warm welcome, which includes a birthday card and two bottles of wine. The ocean views were incredible and the king and the queen beds were very comfortable. Our visit created memories which my family will always treasure. Unfortunately, the house 's maintenance has been deferred. One bedroom had a leak through the ceiling light fixture from which rain water poured and put one of the tall adult guests out of a private bedroom onto a short narrow living room daybed which he didn't appreciate. The host indicated this problem in a note at our check-in. Overall, we cherished out visit in this jewel of a house but we would have made different arrangements, if we had known the home had fewer available private sleeping accommodations.

Amazing property location and view of ocean

Once you find the property (definitely follow the e-mailed instructions), it is a breathtaking view and pretty much exclusive private beach right in front of the house. Not the easiest to access, but doable. The only problem we had with the house was not only was the stove not working (which they did inform us prior to our stay and provided portable electric burners), but we found that plugging in anything in the kitchen constantly tripped the breaker. It was extremely inconvenient to take the portable stove top burners and plugging one into the garage workbench and the other in the living room. Very hard to cook for a family of 11 when you had to run into the other rooms. Other than that, the house was amazing and we may still come back again if they can fix the electrical issue in the kitchen.

Sunny Weekend, gorgeous home and view

Incredible home, stocked with everything we needed. Enjoyed the view, crashing waves and sunshine. Our only complaint was that the Air hockey was not working well and the shuffle board needs more sand.

Quirky and relaxing

Great location! It was somewhat isolated, but still very close to many sights such as Thor's Well, Cape Perpetua, etc. The house was set up so as to allow us to be together when we wanted to be, but gave us the option of having some privacy as needed. The view from the house is amazing! We had a front row seat to many of the oceans moods (stormy, sunny, foggy, clear). It was all we asked for and more. Definitely a "quirky" house. You will never see another just like it!

Beautiful view

Internet and cable sketchy, neighbors NOT friendly. But other than that, not a bad place. If you don't go beyond the bushes to go down to the surf the neighbor will mind her own business. Management responded in timely fasion and was helpful. Views are perfect. Seals lay on Rocks below the home. The photos make the home look like it's on a large property, it's not. Parking and entrance is really tight. We struggled a bit to get our 2500HD Chevy in the driveway, be aware. Lots of steep stairs and games in garage not as advertised. But fair home for age and as I said, can't beat the view. Beds are comfortable and clean.
