“I can't say enough for what a great time we had at Kakao Lodge. I was skeptical at first since I usually like staying in my chain hotels that provide all the normal American comforts. But after staying here, my mind has totally changed. You can't describe how awesome it is to be able to see a half dozen different species of exotic frogs at night, or a sloth while eating breakfast, or tropic birds singing to you in the morning. “Comfortable cabin in a bit secluded area, in the Costa Rican rainforest. We love peacefulness, quietness and close-to-nature location. Our cabin was clean, spacious, with well functional bathroom and veranda facing wall of lush green rain forest. Tasty breakfast. The managing person is very nice, speaks no English though.”

Uncle gave us a free night tour in his garden which was really sweet and informative. Loved the breakfast aunty prepared. “The room was clean and spacious. The property is amazing with nature trails right outside your cabin and a beautiful garden with a talking parrot. The hotel/restaurant also has a few chickens and a turkey. The food at the restaurant was so authentic and some of the best food we ate in Costa Rica. I definitely recommend the tilapia. We ate at the restaurant for 3 of the 4 meals that we had when we were in the area because of how good and convenient it was. Would definitely recommend to anyone...
