“The room was clean and cleaning service was great. There was nobody there at 6:15 pm when I got in after delays with flights and a long day. I checked out and wanted a place to store my bag while I ate and waited to go to the airport but the lady in a closet, not at the desk but hiding in a closet said they could not do that. It was an odd way to leave and left a bad taste. I will not be staying at the painted lady again. Also there was no way to get H2O so ya…”

“The Hotel does not have a business center. I like to gather my thoughts then type them out. I usually like to either be in a business center of the hotel or an area that has a table or two off the lobby. This hotel did not have it. My room had an elevated credenza that I could have used but the mounted TV was directly above it. Except for that, the Elyton Hotel was a great choice. The rooftop bar/lounge Moon Shine was very accommodating and staffed with some fun people as well!”

“We particularly enjoyed how accommodating the staff was to our requests. We wanted extra towels and they immediately made that happen, our car was immediately greeted and unloaded by the valet, making check-in very smooth. Its central location to excellent dining was also a huge plus!”

“My daughter and I stayed here for her UAB orientation, and our room was spacious and well-kept. It was the perfect place to unwind after a long day on campus. The on-site dining, though offering a limited menu, had delicious options, and we were happy we chose to eat in rather than venture out, tired and in search of food. “Definitely a note for travelers is to call way ahead for your valet car! It takes them 30 min at least to retrieve your car as a routine. Otherwise the hotel is great. Also be prepared for the local bike riders to harass you on the street if you are two women alone or alone. Be smart! We were followed as a mom and daughter. It’s not a place to explore outside the hotel. They have four restaurants right outside that are great choices.”

“Spacious room, but it was not very clean and it smelled like marijuana. Only one elevator worked. Very loud. Property looked like it needed some work. Probably won’t be staying here again.”
