“Lovely quirky room in a lovely pub in a quiet location food was lovely clean room I did think the check in service could be a little more professional has we were given wrong keys to our room. The only downside was the WiFi in the room it didn’t work and you don’t get a phone signal, taxis are must if you plan to explore walking isn’t an option due to location. ”

“Check in was quick and easy. Staff were helpful and polite, even moved me from a room in the inn to an annexe room so I could be away from noise from bar. Also had a very good breakfast which is extra but excellent value for money. Definitely recommend it hotel and breakfast.”

“The Hotel is a treat for the eyes and a great place to relax in the many rooms. A beautiful bar and a great breakfast kept us satisfied after a day of exploring the area. A super comfortable bed made our stay even better. The golf course looks beautiful and the hiking trails are interesting. Easy to park your car. The staff were helpful and very polite. Thank you Staley Hall for our stay.”

“We were less happy with the room on this occasion, dark sombre furniture, a dusty desk and no view. There was a spacious modernized bath & shower room however. There is a lift for rooms at the front and some stairs for rooms at the back so an odd mix of different levels. Splendid parkland very well maintained. We enjoyed the "Greek night" and the breakfast was equally good so happy with the food and service.”

“The thermostat to the radiators didn’t work so we couldn’t turn the temperature down and were therefore uncomfortably hot and got limited sleep. The mattress added to the lack of sleep as it was very uncomfortable. The door to our room you could close from the inside with a hard shove but you couldn’t close from the outside so we couldn’t leave anything valuable in the room. “Nice spacious and very clean room. Well facilitated with a tea tray and bottles of water. Room was immensely hot but thankfully able to open all the windows. Liked fresh cooked breakfast (as opposed to usual buffets) however I would love to see a better drinkable coffee being served and a little gripe - after requesting hard poached egg with no ‘snot’ my egg was totally snotty when I cut it and ran into my breakfast so didn’t eat much. “I was worried about parking before I came-but it was fine. The 'disc' people talk about is just a clock. Overnight parking is free, on the the street parking bays, and you can set the clock in the evening so that you get a couple of free hours in the morning. “I stayed for two nights with my wife, bed and breakfast. We had one of the chalets out the back which was very clean and cosy. The facilities are first class and the staff were great. The food was superb, reasonably priced and large portions. The breakfast was very good with a ample choice.”

“Fantastic location. Ideal for what we needed but also really rural-feeling and peaceful. We found it quiet and charming. We enjoyed wandering in amongst the old orchard and down through the copse, across the scrubland that forms part of the floodplain of the Tyne. It was good to know there are badgers around although we weren’t lucky enough to see anyway. The dawn chorus was impressive. Very pleasant indeed. Definitely will book again if we’re back in the area. ”
