“Friendly staff, comfortable bed, nothing special but a reasonable place to stay for a reasonable price. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re a light sleeper or a princess but we enjoyed our stay. ”

However as we returned after an evening out the stench in the air from a soil, composting, wastewater and recycling treatment plant was overwhelming. I there is a solution to this as Chemainus is a charming town and the Cottage and Castle was exceptional! ”

“Oh boy...I greatly dislike writing negative reviews. While Chemainus is adorable, the location is fantastic and the exterior is a dream...this aint it. Mouldy drapes, a number of amenities were broken (electric fireplace, mouldy fridge), no wifi, questionably clean bedsheets. And (I have photos as proof) a white substance residue left on the counter next to the bed. I will say that the indoor jet tub was amazing! I swear I heard a cough below us at one point and noticed a little door that looked...

“I think it was a good place to stay. It's a bit loud near the highway but the window is very good at blocking the sound. Better than you'd expect for the price.”
