Family Summer Vacation
Host is super responsive and the property has pretty much everything you need. The lake is pretty small, but super clear and great for bass fishing! Personally, I feel that the “sleeps 12” is a stretch, and think the furniture and beds would not be adequate for that many. Inflatable mattress needs to be replaced as it deflates within a couple hours. Loved the touch of having puzzles and movies available, as it was great to have during rainy times. Overall, really nice place to spend our week!

Perfect getaway for group of friends
Everything was perfect! Communication with Scott was super easy and the location was super nice. Not sure how Scott did it but he got us perfect weather! The pontoon boat was an awesome perk and the private lake was great. The only thing that kind of sucks is that the dump you have to take your garbage is 30 mins away but that’s to be expected in the north woods.

The property was beautiful. We really enjoyed our ability to use Scott's pontoon. A few things on his information notice was outdated. This did not cause an issue. He is very easy to contact for information.

Very Comfortable, Peaceful Place
Great place to spend time with family. The teenage age grandchildren loved the pontoon boat, swiming off the boat and the fishing was amazing. The beds were very comfortable and surroundings so quiet. I highly recommend this this place.

Great Family Get Away
We loved staying here for our family vacation. The location was beautiful. We loved going out on the pontoon boat to fish and swim. We went to the Camp 5 Steam Train in Laona and the kids loved it! The house had everything we needed. Would like to go back here again for our next family vacation!

Summer Fun
Had the pleasure of staying at the lake house and my family wasn’t disappointed. The property was clean, modern and everything we needed for a fun few days away from the everyday grind of city life. The location was perfect and private and my 2 young boys enjoyed fishing off the dock and pontoon boat which was included in the stay. I think their favorite part was being able to jump off the pontoon boat in the middle of the lake. Best of all the property is pet friendly and our dog was able to join us. We will definitely be back!!!

Perfect Family Lake House
I picked this property to celebrate my 40th Birthday with the family over the weekend largely due to the excellent reviews and the pontoon boat which was an awesome addition! Everyone in our party was very impressed not only by the location but also by the beautiful house, the gorgeous lake views and the convenience of having everything in one spot! The owner of the property was very easy to communicate & deal with and responded super fast to any questions I had! The house had everything you could think of & was more than big enough for our party of 6! I would recommend to bring your own pillows since the ones provided were somewhat flat I know I sleep much better when I have my own pillow! Having the pontoon boat was such a great addition to the property we spent a lot of time fishing on it but had the best luck just fishing off the dock! Cruising on the peaceful lake was very relaxing! The lake is a no wake lake so you can’t go faster than 5knots. We loved spotting deer in the surrounding woods almost every day & how peaceful and quiet the location was. We all had Verizon for our phone provider and had no issues with service! The pictures don’t do this property justice, we loved every minute of our stay and would love to come back years to come! Thanks Scott for providing such a beautiful rental property!

Lovely house on the lake
The house was beautiful, clean, spacious and comfortable and the view of the lake was lovely. Sitting on the deck drinking coffee or a glass of wine was a perfect way to start or end the day. It was a wonderful end of summer getaway.

Family Vacation 2021
This was a first time using Vrbo. Scott was great at answering a first-timers questions. The house was beautiful! Having the pontoon was amazing. We went out every day to spend in the center of the lake swimming. By every day I mean 5-6 hours every day. We only left the house once, to eat at a supper club, which we do every year. There was a variety of games that included something for everyone. We had 7 adults and 2 children (4 and 7). We spent several meals out on the deck and the table inside accommodated 9 people comfortably. We are a camping family and this was our first transition to renting a place and the one thing everyone agreed on was having a dishwasher was so exciting!! Thanks Scott!

Perfect and relaxing
Home was clean and beds were comfy. The loon sang to us in the morning and fishing was fun. Lots to explore nearby. Goodman Park was a highlight with the waterfalls. Local restaurants are good if you don't want to cook. Very quiet. Would 100% recommend.

Vacation
We had a great time here. The place was very clean with a lot of extras included. There were games for the kids, cleaning supplies, well equipped kitchen & numerous other things available to use. Thank you again Scott for letting us come into your home to make memories with my family. The fishing wasn't very good but, we made up for it by spending alot of time at the beach at Camp 6 (Laurel Lake). :)

Nice, cozy vacation home
We had a nice time during our stay. The house was cozy and comfortable for our group. The lakeview was gorgeous. Pontoon was a nice addition. We caught lot of bass fish! The owner's response was great. Overall, a nice place for 10-12 people.

Great Cabin and Fun Lake!
We stayed at Scott’s cabin for a few days with our friends from Colorado. There were four adults, five children (ages 5-10), and one dog. There was plenty of space for all of us! The weather was rainy during the days of our stay, but it didn’t matter- the cabin was comfortable and we were still able to get out on the pontoon boat several times each day so our children could jump off it and swim in the middle of the lake. They had so much fun! We also fished a bit, hung out on the deck, and even roasted marshmallows one evening using the fire pit. We had a few questions when we were there, and Scott responded immediately to them. His communication was excellent and he really made an effort to make sure that we had everything we needed to have an enjoyable stay.

Perfect for quiet getaway
We had a nice, relaxing weekend getaway. Check in was easy, there is a store not too far away (if you need anything), and boat access was easy also. I had my son with me, who is not quite 2 yet and we were happy to find a high chair available for him. (No crib but he stayed in the king size bed with my husband and me.) The cabin is super cute and well furnished if you have a group (we had 9 total).

Secluded and relaxing
We had a relaxing time. Enjoyed the lake on the pontoon. Did some fishing and had a campfire. The house had enough space for everyone. It was a bit far from conveniences but we were surprised how much the corner store had available. Did not like having to dispose of garbage after trip. The dump was 25 minutes away. I would recommend if you enjoy quiet and secluded lake atmosphere. Had a great time!

Great place
Great place to stay. Check in is easy and painless. Really clean and peaceful. Only thing is no internet and low phone connection. If you're looking for a place to get away and disconnect from the busy world, great place to stay. Would highly recommend this place.

I have Verizon which has a strong signal for phone and internet. I'm able to use my phone as a mobile hotspot and stream videos and movies but other providers may not work as well.

My family and our friends had a wonderful time staying in this picturesque cabin on the lake. We enjoyed taking little hikes and having a peaceful environment to catch up in. The capon was so clean with great amenities for families with infants.

Amazing Lake House
This lake house was perfect for our family. It was very clean, organized and so beautiful. We really liked going out on the boat to fish and swim in the lake! Quiet get away

Great spot!
This is a very nice, well build and well kept cabin! We all had a great time! A couple items of note, the estimate that it sleeps twelve is probably a little overstated. In order to have 12, you need to have 2 people on every sleeping surface, including the air mattress - so it can be done, especially if you have lots of kids. Also, there is no trash service. You have to take all the garbage with you and the dump option that was noted was 25 miles (in the opposite direction for us) from the cabin. These notes aside, it was a beautiful property on a gorgeous quite lake. Scott was a great and very responsive host!

It was ok
1st thing, when we checked out we were charged a fee for a towel rack that was broken when we arrived. I thought nothing of it at the time but in the future will report anything immediately to avoid additional charges. The bike tires are in extremely poor condition and could not even be pumped up, were unable to use. The canoe was locked up and could not be used. There were 2 lights out in the kitchen that made it hard to cook. Every time we turned on the oven the fire alarm went off. I see why everyone recommends that you bring your own towels because the ones that are there for you are very stiff and do not smell the best. I would not return. It was nice to get away and spend a few days with family but next year we will find a different spot.

I'm sorry you had some minor issues with your stay. If you had told me while you were there, I could have done something to improve your visit. I want everyone to enjoy their visit to our lake house and it obviously does not benefit anyone if there is something that merits writing a complaint about. With that said, I would like to address your complaints specifically: 1, towel rack could support the weight of towels when you arrived and could not after you left. 2. Bikes and canoe are not included with rental but I have let people use them if they asked. 3. Replacing a light bulb takes a few minutes and we would have happily done so had we been notified. 4. I have not heard that complaint about the smoke detector but I will look into that. 5. I have spoken with the cleaning person who washes the linens and will take steps to improve that for future guests. Thank you for this comment.

My family of 12 stayed here and had a wonderful time! The house didn't seem crowded for all 12 of us at all! It was clean, kids enjoyed the games and of course we spent 90% of our stay on the pontoon fishing and sunning. I would recommend it!

The place had lost of space and the pontoon was great use on the lake. Would of been awesome if the basement was converted into something more like activity room or more space for guest to sleep. Other wise our stay was really great.

Great cabin with pleanty of room.
When we arrived at the cabin, the first thing we noticed was the amount of space! We had a large group but had ample beds to sleep in and space for air mattresses. The futon was larger than expected and definitely comfortable to sleep in. The kitchen table was great--with the added leaf, there was plenty of space and seating for large group meals. The cooking space was huge for a cabin and it was great having a dishwasher. The cabin was also very clean--better than most hotels! There was also plenty of seating available for the deck, which was especially nice at night. We all had a great time by the water, too. The bottom of the lake is quite mucky, so the little kids stayed on the dock or in the boat. But the big kids had a blast floating all over the lake on tubes. The boat was nice to go further into the lake to fish/swim. The kids also liked to fish off the dock and watch the smaller fish through the clear water. Overall, it was a great cabin to get away from it all, with plenty of space, amenities and comfort.

A good time had by all
We had a great time on this trip. This property is nestled in the woods and very peaceful and private. The neighboring homes are completely hidden from view. The house was very nice and clean and stocked well. We really enjoyed having the pontoon and a canoe to use. We took the pontoon out on multiple occasions to the middle of the lake for swimming and fishing, but used it even more to fish from and just hang out while docked at the pier. This lake has a bit of a mucky bottom by the pier but is great for swimming further out. Groceries and other supplies are just a short drive into Armstrong Creek - saw a lot of deer on those drives. We spent one of the days doing a little exploring and hiking at Twelve Falls County Park and also Goodman County Park. Both good stops. Scott was very friendly and quick to respond to any questions we had. All in all a very good trip with good memories made.

An enjoyable vacation!
Owner was friendly and prompt with responses to questions before and during our stay. We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The kids loved being able to fish multiple times throughout the day. The water was clear and perfect for a swim. The pontoon access was a bonus! A very quiet lake. Only saw one other boat and only once during our stay. We enjoyed the fire pit for s’mores and hot dogs. Loved being close to hiking trails (don’t forget your bug repellent). The beds were not the most comfortable, but we were not expecting a luxury hotel. Home was clean, for the most part, upon arrival. Would definitely recommend and would consider staying again in the future! Thank you, Scott, for sharing your home!!

Great Vacation Rental if you want to go off the grid and relax, read a book & enjoy family & friends
The property was easily accessible, and the owners instructions were almost perfect! House inside is nice and comfortable, plenty of towels and we took most of the owners recommendations for things to bring with us so we weren’t without anything for making meals. There’s a corner store just a short drive away that is most convenient if you forget anything and there’s several things in the area to do. We needed a rental that was pet friendly and were looking for one that had a boat rental too. The complementary pontoon here was a great perk! It’s not fancy, but totally fine for fishing or trolling around the lake. It’s a NO WAKE LAKE, so if you’re looking to ski or tube, this is not that kind of lake. We saw 1 other fishing boat out the 4 days we were there and it was so quiet and serene-we loved it! We have busy lives and 4 days with no internet or cable tv was perfect! We watched a movie each evening, put a large puzzle together, read books, made s’mores and roasted hotdogs in the fire pit and spent quality time together as a family. I couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to do that. There’s a critical review on here, that I have to agree with the owner is over critical. I don’t think those travelers read the details of the home or the rental agreement too closely, and we’re therefore under impressed with its offerings. Guys, go fish here! Families, go spent time together! Turn off your notifications and leave your phones on a table! You won’t regret it and everything will be there when you pick it back up. 4 days, and I feel so much better!! Thank you Scott and Family for opening and sharing your home. We wish you much success with your rental in the seasons to come! We sure will consider it again!

Loved it!!
The view from the back deck is gorgeous. Quiet and peaceful the stars are beautiful at night. Kids loved fishing and swimming off the boat. Would definitely go again.

Would not recommend. The pontoon boat was a big disappointment as the access to the lake was located in a shallow cove with no way to fish or swim with out going out. The boat is powered with a large trolling motor that should have been adequate, only 1 of the two batteries would hold a charge and limited our lake activities, had to use the one paddle to get back to the dock (not recommended for a pontoon in shallow water) The house has a large deck facing the lake but there was only one small table with an umbrella that was broken. Since we had rain 4 out of the 4 days we were there the deck was not used much. There is very little open space outside so you are either in the house or on the boat and since the boat diddn't work we were in the house.

It sounds like the weather really soured your experience. If you would have mentioned the batteries not working while you were there I could have done something about it. I made an unplanned trip to bring two new batteries up the day after you told me. I'm sorry your time was not enjoyable but your comments are overly critical.

Perfect!
We had a great time on our up north weekend! The house is beautiful. Lake is peaceful, and we caught lots of nice fish. Highly recommend this property of you want a nice and relaxing time away from it all!
