The development get ploughed well but you can catch times in the morning when you can sled in driveways. We go to bear valley for cross country ski and this is a perfect spot. The cabin had so many bonus amenities that gave us cherished family memories- ping pong and pool competitions, family movie night in the home theatre, and tasty meals sitting around the dinner table. There was just enough snow to enjoy sledding and snow shoeing too. Any questions we had were quickly answered by the owner too. Thank you, sweet retreat. “Our family of for enjoyed staying at this cozy cabin in the snow. There was just enough snow for our young California kids to play in while we cooked breakfast and got ready for the day. The only reason that we would not stay here again is because the window in the kids room did not have any window treatments so forget sleeping in.”

“My wife and I stayed at Apache Pines in September for hiking and site seeing, and again in February to ski at Bear Valley. We like the house and its location and are likely to stay there in the future. Parking would be an issue in the winter if there are more than two cars. The lower level of the house has a bedroom, bath and family room which are great if traveling with kids. There is no master suite, the two upstairs bedrooms share a bathroom. “My family and I stayed at the cabin for 4 days during my daughter's winter break. It had everything we needed to manage the little ones, cook, relax, and have fun. There are many forest roads about 100 yards away for a morning hike. The local grocery was very close and convenient. The space is nice for a family with little ones. There was a creek running behind the cabin that the kids enjoyed walking down and there was a private lake with a playground that we got to explore.”
