Svegliati e senti l'odore del pino, mentre porti l'alba dal tuo portico di caccia d'ispirazione italiana. Fai una passeggiata lungo il fiume Truckee a pochi passi di distanza. Fai un po 'di neve all'Olympic Valley o trascorri una giornata in giro per la città e visita la spa nella località di Squaw Valley. Vai a pescare e nutrire la famiglia con il pescato del giorno. Super charming mountain home

The house is even more charming in person, and a great option for our friends' annual ski trip. As others have mentioned, the appliances are outdated, but functional-- and frankly, it matches the vintage vibe of the home. The house was clean, the kitchen was stocked with cookware and spices, and the house was a 3-4 minute drive from Palisades ski area and 10 minutes from Truckee. The jets did not work in the hot tub (which property owner mentions in listing), but it was HOT, which was great after a long day on the slopes. The upstairs toilet was difficult to flush, which we let maintenance know about, hopefully they addressed the issue. They were very communicative and overall no complaints!

Great for larger Groups

We stayed here for a work trip. The house was clean and well appointed. The layout is a bit strange with some bedrooms only being able to be accessed through others but we are a close team and found that not to be a problem. We can't wait to book this property again next year!

Victorian Farmhouse on the Mountainside

I wish I didn’t have to work many of the days. I could hardly wait to get back to this little place. I felt a good presence there. I loved the way it was decorated and furnished! I also loved where it sat on the mountain side. It is in disrepair though. many items had to be repaired while we were renting it. The windows had fingerprints on them, so I felt the need to clean everything. The pool was dirty and mossy. We watched mosquitoes land in it and fly out of it. Management was great and asked the pool company to come out to clean it. When they were done, it was so cloudy, I wouldn’t even put my foot in it. North Tahoe tubs left a note stating, “pool was clean and will clear to some degree, but Pollen will continue to be a problem. Pool is sanitary and chemically balanced.” The water did not clear before we left on Friday. We live in Galena Forrest and know the difference between Yellow Pollen and green moss.

Great Location and Nice Home

The home is conveniently located next to Palisades (great for skiing), hot tub was a great plus. The pool / backyard was snowed in (likely obvious to some). The outside home was nice and could comfortably sleep 4. Overall, a great pick for your next trip!

Great location, but needs work

We enjoyed our stay in Olympic Valley - the location on a quiet street just across the river from Palisades is fantastic. The home is nicely decorated but old, and much of the house was either rickety or did not properly function — doors to exterior decks did not open and close properly. The handle to the oven broke off when opened. The fireplace did not function at all - a very nice local property manager spent over an hour trying to fix it without result. He did successfully hook up the bbq which was not operable when we arrived. The Wi-Fi went out the first night and we were directed to a back up network that worked for the rest of the trip. We were also disappointed that the house was not properly outfitted for the 12 guests it sleeps. There were 4 pool towels (more were delivered when requested). There were 4 wine glasses and four short water glasses, along with a few leftover jam jars. We purchased plastic cups to use, along with napkins, tin foil, Kleenex and toilet paper as no extra was provided. The extra bedding mentioned in the listing was also not present. We paid a premium for the holiday weekend and excellent location but ultimately didn’t feel the property lived up to the steep price.

Great location, terribly maintained property, poor response from property manager (AvantStay)

The location got us excited as did the photos and descriptions. Unfortunately much of the property was in disarray and the listing was largely inaccurate. Bedrooms were not separated in two cases. Queen beds were maybe doubles? The pool house was not functional as a living space for the winter, no heater, power outlets not working (we later learned from a repair person the whole pool house building was on a 20A circuit). Doors, kitchen, floors, toilets, showers were all in various states of disrepair. This is an abbreviated list of complaints. Attempts to get timely resolution for the litany of issues with property manager AvantStay failed. We are now seeking a full refund as we had to cut our vacation short. One couple had to stay in a hotel room at Palisades since the pool house was a bust. Skip this one.

Fun spot on the Truckee River

Property is in a really great location right on the Truckee River, a 5 minute drive to Squaw and 10 minutes into Tahoe City. House has a lot of character. The main living room is super cozy with two comfy leather couches and lodge-y decor. Kitchen and baths are NOT updated (I did not catch this in the online photos). Beds were comfortable and the bedding was a lot nicer than what you usually get in a rental - huge bonus for me! Hot tub only heated to luke warm, which was a huge bummer for the group. Overall, the house was great for our small group and we enjoyed our fall getaway very much.

What a lovely place to breathe easy in the woods and enjoy the winter snow. Team was very supportive in tending to anything that needed a careful hand in this charming (and now almost entirely updated) property. We hope to make our several week getaway an annual event!

A beautiful stay away from the crowd!

We had an amazing time during our stay at this rustic and very cozy cabin. Although not perfect for families with smaller kids, we enjoyed the stay very much and had a great time.

Fun family vacation in North Lake Tahoe

When my family and I were looking at vacation rentals in Lake Tahoe, we wanted to chose a house near North Star and Squaw Valley because of all of the fun activities to do on the mountain. This place was the perfect vacation for a summer vacation! My kids loved playing in the pool, and I didn't mind watching them from the jacuzzi :) It was great because the home was very family friendly and included a highchair as well as pack-n-play portable crib that I could move around the house. The location was also ideal for my husband, as the area holds some of the best golf courses in Tahoe! Would definetely book again with AvantStay - fantastic hospitality and customer service!
