LITERAL ROACH MOTEL

I was recommended this location after a family member stayed here and had a decent experience, but it was a huge mistake to take their advice. The reviews for this place were decent when I was booking as well and I feel extremely misled. We asked for non-smoking but the room had obviously been smoked in and then sprayed over, so either they didn't clean up well enough or it wasn't non-smoking. My husband had a severe allergy attack while staying here. We didn't ask for a new room because we had already been told it was full. My second issue was that the place was dirty. The towels had stains, the tub and bed had hair on them, and the toilet wouldn't flush. I broke out in a RASH after trying to sleep in the covers and there were literal roaches in the room on our last day. My final complaint is that the girl behind the counter is nosy and rude. We tried to ask for a discount because of how terrible everything was and she began screaming at us and trying to say that we had brought an extra person with us! We absolutely did not do this, but she had notes about the fact that we'd thrown the disgusting sheets on the floor so maybe someone would wash them. We got NO sleep, were out of state with no other options, and I've never had a more horrible experience! After speaking with the locals (our family) they told us they knew about this place and wouldn't send their worst enemy here.

Will consider other options if I plan another stay

For the price it served it's purpose. Went to sit in the recliner in the room, and the back fell off of it. Bed was extremely hard and did not get much sleep, but the air conditioner is cool enough for me to tolerate hearing footsteps up stairs that sounded like people were playing some kind of jump rope game. In the morning I took a shower in a tub with very little water pressure.

Decent for $50

The first I stayed here it was decent. The room was good for $50. I only had a problem with noisy people upstairs and the bathroom door not wanting to open.

Price is a little too high for what it's worth

The hotel itself is decent for a 1 night stay if you have nowhere else to go. The price is a little high for what it's worth. The room is clean...enough, at least. It works for a quick trip.

Nice facility

Refrigerator and microwave. Nicely presented. When we asked about the coffee pot we were told people kept stealing them so they stopped. Close by restaurant to eat.

have stayed in better and worse 2 star motels

Tar on one of the towels Remote was taped together.. No coffee on location.. We payed for 2 nights and the manager refunded one night when we decided not to stay the second night. The motel was old and worn.

Nice hotel with easy access off a main road

This is a older place and because it sits alone with no surrounding businesses, is very quite. The bathroom is small but the rooms are clean and comfortable and affordable. The staff was very nice. I would stay here again.

Nice but loud

Everything about the hotel itself was acceptable other than its not very sound proof. I heard doors slamming ALL night long. Then at 4am my door neighbor decides to play basketball in his room. Several times the lamps in my room rattled from the raucous.

Near festival we were attending

Walton Inn was clean and well kept. It is an older property. Not enough linens , maybe a hand towel and extra wash clothes for freshening up.

Very clean and friendly, impressed

We don't normally stay at what might be considered a truck stop motel. But due to Hurricane Matthew, it was all that we could find. We were pleasantly surprised. For a very reasonable cost, we received an extra clean room and very friendly service. There was less noise from surrounding rooms than what we usually experience with the Marriott! It may not have been as fancy as the Marriott, but I would have no problem staying at this location again if the need arose.

EXCELLENT STAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a perfect place for me a my girlfriend. We did some sight seeing and went to a concert. The room was perfect in every way and the staff was excellent.

Good deal

I stayed here one night after a wedding. Motel style and with seemingly one staff member. The room was updated and clean which is all I cared about. Easy access to car, felt safe.

Staff was rude as hell!!

The staff are rude and disrespectful! Bathroom was broken, so you couldn't close it because you'd be locked in. The bedding had burn holes in them.

Great for the price.

The room was clean and the bed was clean and comfortable. The air conditioning unit worked great and there was a nice flat screen tv with a remote that actually worked properly. Although I didn't get the "non-smoking king bed" room that I had initially paid for due to the room being sold prior to Expedia sending my reservation in, they gave me a "non-smoking double bed" room with extra space at no charge. The staff was a little stern but they made sure that I was taken care of. It was quiet and I had no problems. It was great for the price. I would definitely stay here again.
